Question aboout those magnetic air hoses.

I can't find the article(s) about the self-coupling and uncoupling magnetic air hoses, they were posted a couple of months ago ?

My question: do they conduct electricity ? Need a simple way to pipe a low DC voltage from one car to another, without the need for manual (dis)connecting.

TIA

cheers, Leo

Ideas for sourcing n-scale aggregate semi/trailer

Does anyone have a lead on any manufactures which might produce something similar to this aggregate semi/trailer in n-scale?

I see these all over the place down here in the Hill Country portion of Texas coming out of the quarries.

Any clever ideas on scratch building the trailer (toilet paper tube maybe)?

Weekend progress

At one end of the layout my Free-mo module is connected as part of an industrial park.   In order to work this area, the switcher needed a small tail track.   However, I didn't want this extending into the main part of the room where the kids play, and eventually something (or someone) whacking into it.   So I built a small drop down leaf and mounted it with a hinge.    In the "up" position, a simple bolt/washer/nut combination keeps it in place.   I need to get a small hook and eyelet to hold it back in the down position.

GRANDE PACIFIC MODEL RR LAYOUT TOUR UPDATE

The GP has changed from car cards to JMRI operations. Additional electronic have been completed to include block detection on the whole main line and sidings. Staging is only place left for detection. I have added a wire less network for remote panel control and engine operations using smart phones and tablets. We have ops session every month.

Questions are welcome. Enjoy.

Changes, changes...

Hi there,

I'm about to make changes (big changes...) in my existing layout and I would like to hear opinions on new track plan.

I want to go from this:

Scale H0

Size of layout: 4 x 4,3 m

Minimum radius of 360 mm (aprox 14")

Turnout radius is 437.5 mm (aprox 17,5 ")

C and K Marklin track

to this:

Level 0

Lately I have been adding photo backdrops that I printed.  Here are some progress shots.  Still need to blend in some of them in areas.
