Kato 90/43 MAC and decoder

Installed relative Digitrax decoder in my loco. Before replacing body shell ran loco and it performed as expected.

Replaced body shell and all I got from the loco was a slight lights flicker.

Removed shell and it runs perfectly. Any suggestions?

Labeling conventions for directions

Is there any convention on how directions labels should be noted?  What do you use for direction (if anything)?
I'm talking about compass points (N, S, E, W) as they relate to the movement of trains around the layout.
I assume layouts based on real prototypes (especially point to point) would probably use the geographic directions.  But what of continuous loop designs that fold back on themselves?

What Are you Modeling?

I am new to this site, but I have asked this question on Model Railroader website.

My railroad is a fictional Class I Railroad, based in Evans (ghost town in reality), Illinois. It stretches coast to coast as well as the gulf Coast. Since I have a limited amount of space, I am modeling a compress branch line along the railroad line. The branchline at any time has about 22 diesel and 7 (3 are switchers) operating on the line to service the railroad customers:

-Quarry

-EAF mini steel mill

Swamp

Hello guys,

I want to make a small swamp on my layout, but I'm not sure how to, especially a slime on a water. Any idea? I've been looking for but I have not found anything useful yet.

Thanks in advance,

Jure, Slovenia

OO gauge battery powered radio control

Ok, for those that are thinking about battery power and radio control. This engine is controlled by a DelTang 2.4Hz receiver.

Here's a close up of the engine uncoupling from the cars.

Color for Engine

I am trying to paint an engine form Chicago & Illinois Midland.  Micro Scale says to use a color called Warehouse Green.  I cannot find it.  Anyone have any suggestions?  Thanks!

Lessons Learned Handlaying Track

It has been a fascinating journey learning the basics of hand laying my own track. Most of the BQR was flextrack and commercial turnouts. But to finish that last 10% was proving to be very difficult -- more so due to the limited space and geometry that is a combination of what senior management would allow and my creative decisions.
