Black Polyfiber
Does anyone know of a source for black polyfiber? Micro Mart no longer stocks it.

30 yard western done.... for now.
It is summer up here in the north. Too nice out to do any modeling but during a couple of days of rain I finished the 30 yard western. At least for now as I want to rust it up a bit.
I put the Walthers Diffco in the back for comparison.
Finally, back to it!
I have finally been able to break away and start a new office layout. Well... more of a display now. But, maybe you all can help? I want to do some rock wall work and things to make it look interesting, but have no idea if there are any prototype examples of track-work that is separated by multiple levels of retaining walls?

Power Districts Design Questions
I am in the process of determining the breaker protected district locations on my layout in preparation for DCC power bus wiring. Currently I have the layout divided into these individual blocks:
Need some DCC help
Am new to DCC, and need some help. It has been a frustrating couple of nights.
I have a NCE ProCab and a three foot piece of flex track that I am using for my programming track. I am using DecoderPro3 with the NCE USB interface
I have three loco's, and all have problems that I can not figure out.
1) Bachmann 70T with Bachmann DCC installed. Works fine, except that the headlights only come on when the headlight button is pushed on the ProCab. They do not come on based on direction. I have it set up as the Bachman 4 function decoder (36-550).
Ideas for road bridges
Good evening,
I am looking for ideas on building a couple of road bridges for my late 60’s early 70 HO era layout. I need bridges that will cover both single and double track areas. These bridges would be type of rural 2 lane bridges that were around then and could also double as scenery divider.
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

The Great Gathering of Pacifics
Today is the day! The Great Gathering takes place in the UK National Railway Museum at York. http://www.nrm.org.uk/PlanaVisit/Events/mallard75.aspx
On 3rd July 1938 at a place called Stoke Bank on the East Coast Main Line, the A4 Pacific Mallard, broke the record for a steam engine achieving a speed of 125.88 mph, a record held by the locomotive today. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LNER_Class_A4_4468_Mallard
Nostalgia reading
For those that enjoy reading old model railroading mags, this site:
has a lot of Railmodel Journal. Model Railroading, Rail News, Pacific Rail News, Model Builder (all the way to before WWII), Pacific News and Prototype Modeler available for online reading. FWIW. Jose.
Building a Layout One Module at a Time
I've been a little behind in reading the magazine, so it was just a couple of days ago that I read Joe Fugate's column The "One-Module" Challenge (http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/magazine/mrh-2013-05-may/rr_one-modul...).
