Wireless JMRI or LocoNet throttle idea

I have another half-baked idea, and I'd love some input, suggestions, or assistance.  I keep thinking about the throttles that are currently available.  They're either bulky, uncomfortable, complicated, expensive, or some combination of the above.  Then I think about other similar things in other applications, and they're none of the above.  I'd like to see a little more crossover.

Now this would be something to replicate.

Okay the attached picture is NOT photoshopped. This car really exists here in North Florida. This photo was taken by a good friend of mine yesterday and leads me to ask the question, "could I replicate this on the side of a boxcar?' The short answer is no. At least not freehand. The solution is a full size decal. So I have ordered some decal paper and we will see if I can make it look anywhere as good as whoever had enough time and energy to do the full size painting.

Virtual Railroading...A Brief Introduction

Hello model railroad junkies...yes, you know who you (we) are,

This blog, named "Sitting There...", will be mostly about railroad software. Yes, we are armchair modelers.

I will not be giving reviews of railroad software. This blog will be a thorough discussion of how software programs compare against each other, and what we like or don't like about them.

As I see it, there are four major categories of railroad software:

1. Train simulation programs

2. Layout design programs

Finding older posts

I am having some trouble navigating this site. Just yesterday I saw an amazing post or blog about someone kitbashing D&H steam engines. Someone asked for an update on his progress, that was how I came across it. Now I can't find it. I don't know who it was that wrote the article and using the search yielded unsatisfactory results. So my question is twofold: What am I doing wrong and how can I find that post? Thanks in advance for any help.

Recommended Decoder for Brawa N guage loco

Hi, I've got a couple of Brawa N gauge diesel locos (article 61004) of the German class 232.

I need to install some decoders (no sound - no room) and am trying to decide between Lenz Gold mini, ESU LokPilot micro V4.0 and an Uhlenbrock  decoder. I use Fleischmann Twin Center as my DCC controller.

Any recommendations/opinions.

Richlawn RR V2 - Benchwork (some of it) in the Room!

It's a banner day here for the Richlawn RR V2 as today I put three sections of the benchwork in the room and connected them together!  At the rate I was progressing there were times when I thought that this day would never come.
