MEC Mountain Division - First draft - feedback appreciated
Attached is my first cut at a layout in N scale based on the MEC Mountain Division in 1955. There are a couple things that are counter to the prototype:
1) Mirror image of St Johnsbury yard due to space limitations and to enable a fictional connection enabling occasional continuous running.
2) Extra spur between Intervale, NH and Conway, NH that does not exist but provides potential for future expansion into another room (through wall).

Revisions to the south end of Wilmington
Several months ago I floated out some ideas for revising the south end of Wilmington Yard on my layout. I received some interesting feedback so I thought I would update all y'all on what i ended up doing.
New project: HO scale car/engine shop
Time to snap out of my analysis paralysis. A number of years ago, I acquired a Bachmann Plus Car Repair Shop kit off of the Bay. For those of you who may be unfamiliar, it's a 3-bay metal barn with large skylights in the roof and molded-in track grooves in the base to add your favorite flavor of rail. I had purchased it with the intent of using it for a small shelf layout with the premise of a shortline operating over UP and BNSF tracks in northern Colorado.
Athearn MP-15 AC decoder?
I purchased a MP-15 AC several years ago. I think it was about 2007. I am trying to program the locomotive, and it won't take any of the changes from Decoder Pro nor the Power Cab from NCE. I can program the number, but that appears to be it. I can not change the start voltage, or momentum. When the Power Cab is used, the manufacture come up a different number each time, and the version is also different.
Should I get a Tsunami or is there something I am missing?
3-D printing timing
In 1983 I was able to convince the Board of the not-for-profit agency that I ran that it would be cost-effective to buy a hard drive to replace the 8" IBM floppy disks we we using for storage. We purchased a Corvus 5 Kb (that's 5,000 BYTES OF INFO) unit housed in a 12" cube for $5,000! Just tickled. Today, of course, terabyte capacity is purchased in Costco for a couple of hundred dollars. Driven by demand, ultra fine, multicolor 3-D printing is now years, not decades away. All honor to those in every field who are buying and experimenting and pushing things along for the rest of us.
John Wilkes L&N layout
I just got done reading the August issue of MRH and enjoyed it as always. However what really got me excited was next month's announcement of the September issue. As a L&N modeler and railfan, i'm so looking forward to reading and viewing John Wilkes's new L&N layout. That big alco C630 makes me think of black smoke, alco rumbles, and coal trains galore. Can't wait. Thanks, Andrew.

Penn Lake Version 8 (now with track plans)
After spending much time wrestling with some design shortcuts I took 10 years ago, I decided to scrap the current Penn Lake, and start over. My library of Chuck Yungkurth books inspired me to actually model some of the operations I currently represent with staging. And finally, my advancing middle, is no longer compatible with some of the choices I made a decade ago.

Cornhill & Atherton - Turntable Fun
Haven't posted for a while........
Just too busy "Working on the Railroad" so cyber time has been relegated.
Anyway, for those of you who remember I am following 'top down' building principles for a small double deck layout. The top deck track work is almost 100% complete and I just needed to build a turntable for Atherton engine terminal.
Here it is........close to completion:

Pictures of recent work
Hi guys,
As I mentioned last night, I got some pictures for you. I'd like to have some constructive feedback if you have any, please.
The finished crossover. I haven't included pictures of the switch operating knobs but I may in the future if you guys want to see them.
The intermodal spur
DCC _Engineer_ system, feedback required...
Dear MRHers,
OK, here's a straight up comparison question for the brains trust:
Your thoughts on:
- NCE Cab04P + SB5
VS
- Digitrax UT4 + DB150
