Yard curved ladder - track/turnout radius?
Hi Folks,
I'm trying to work out the turnout size that will work for a curved ladder on a 5 track double ended yard. My basic question is what frog and radius would work for the following yard:
- HO, modern era (must handle autoracks), 30" min radius, fast tracks turnouts.
- rectangular room (26'x12.5'), yard is along top long wall with curved ladder starting on the right short wall (90 degree corner) curving left into the yard. Yard table width is 24", side leg is 13.5".
Mobile homes in N scale
The next module of my switching layout (http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/13976) will have a trailer park with mobile homes. They are hard to find in N-scale, so I decided to make some by myself as a 3D-print:
The picture shows the first prototype with primer just applied. Next is airbrushing and weathering, adding window glasses and so on.

Progress
I HAVE SOLVED THE PROBLEM! The railroad is alive; the programming track works; the yard tracks all work; the mainline tracks all work. Once I install the ground throws for switch tracks the intermittent power problem will go away as the stock rails will make firm, positive contact.
Custom RS18u
Has anyone out there ever done a RS18u in any road name I'm starting a cp rail PAC man scheme so far I have worked on the under frame but want to start the shell this weekend should be an interesting one just wanted to see others work.

Cell phone speakers - better or just smaller?
I've read recently of people using cell phone speakers with sound decoders and getting excellent results. What I'd like to know is, are they better than other common speakers that are sold, for example by Soundtraxx? Or are they just smaller, and thus better for some tight applications? I have room for a high bass speaker, so I'm wondering if there is any audible reason to try to find some cell phone speakers instead.

DCC ready locos. Speaker suggestions please
Ok, decided that my modular layout isn't going's to be DCC, but have been buying loco's which are DCC ready with either 8 or 9 pin plugs already installed. Planning for the future so I can add what I want when it's available.

New Athearn southern pacific SD45's can you convert them to SD45T-2's ?
I'm looking for some Southern Pacific SD45T-2's. Looks like I missed the Athearn run a few years ago. They're running a new batch of SD45's and I've ordered a pair. Just curious if I can covert these to SD45T-2's? I've seen a kit online awhile ago that had the vent panels. Has anyone done this before? How easy will it be? Cut away the shell and insert the grates? I don't want to ruin my investment by cutting the shell only to find out the vent part won't fit properly.
Suggestions?
