Accumate Couplers

Picked up a new Accurail boxcar at the LHS and discovered that their coupler boxes no longer take a Kadee coupler and spring. or at least not very easily. Tighten the lid down, and well because the box is so shallow you can't tighten the cover down.

Tried assembling their coupler and when adding the coupler box lid things just slide around and fall apart. Any tricks to getting them to go together?

Thanks, Jack

IAIS MOW #52 resurrected

I have a maintenance of way truck that has been out of commission for several years and I decided to tinker with it to get it back running.

The brass model originally had grossly oversized wheels and I wanted to replace them with scale wheels. I found the appropriate parts off of an HO scale cement truck.

Building a Roster - What's Rare?

Perhaps a bit of a different perspective on building a roster, with a couple of carnival/circus trains thrown in.

HELP!! Rigging the Walthers American crane.

I have one of Walthers American Cranes and by accident I knock it off the tracks. As you can bet all of the rigging got tangle up to the point I had to disassemble the crane and trying to rig it back using the diagram provided by Walthers is almost impossible. Does any one knows of any step by step instructions on how to do it? Thank you...

Custom Weathering

I've often considered having someone weather my more expensive models.  I've hummed and hawed about it for years.  There are a few things that stopped me in the past - 1) I should be able to learn it on my own and develop a new skill, 2) it can be quite costly and I'd rather spend my hobby dollars on other things, 3) who do I trust to do it and how long will it take, and 4) what if the job ends up being no better than what I could do and I'd paid for it?

Tsunami 2 already does what Loksound full throttle does

I sometimes get mildly irritated with what often appears to me to be fawning praise of Loksound's full throttle decoders. One person says they are great and a bunch then pile in. Some people may be cowed with the praise and feel they have to agree. They may be very good decoders, and I have heard, watched and run a few examples, but they are not the only show in town.

C&O 120 Ton Crane

I recently purchased and built the Tichy 120 Ton Crane and would like to know if anyone knows the paint schemes that were used on the C&O during the 1950's.  I believe they were W-8 etc.  I can't find any color pictures even on the C&O Historical Society site.  Were they black, blue, did they use yellow on the boom tip and hooks, etc.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

LokSound consisting

Hi!

I have 2 Athearn Gennesis SD70ACes with LokSound select directs and the 73825 v8r5 up to date sound files installed.  I run on an NCE Pro radio system.

I like to run the two locomotives in a consist but have noticed that they fight when descending a 1.8% grade with a train behind.  I've trimmed the front one to pull a little harder because if they fight in a corner or the lead locomotive lags in a corner the ditch light lock horns and one tips over or derails.
