Locos - Rolling stock (general)

Design & Construction of a Test Layout

The activity on the testing of HO model locos has been stalled for a while because of life and other issues.  I have been “working” around the project, but progress has been slow.  A segment has been completed to the point where testing of the test layout has begun.

Building an Island Model Works South Shore/NICTD Coach + Dunes Junction Blog Back From Hiatus

The Up Dunes Junction blog is back to regular posts after an extended hiatus caused by work and real life. Some downtime after a breakneck run of travel and other excitement have given me a chance to re-start modeling projects and share my railroad-related thoughts via the blog.

Quick update- the RTA marked versions (the green cars) are just about sold out according to Bowser's website.  They still have versions marked for other systems, in case anyone's interested in doing a little kitbashing.

What glue to use for weights in Accurail HO Boxcars?

I used CA in a pinch even though I didn't think it would hold. I was right.  First little minor bump of the car and the weight is rattling around inside. Now I'm thinking something more flexible like latex caulk but thought I'd ask here for ideas. Looking for suggestions of stuff that would be available around the house or at the corner store. Already thought of something like Walthers GOO but don't have any on hand and there are no LHS in my area to get such things.
