Economy engines

This came to the QAT mail here at MRH. Rather than make Bruce wait until November for an answer, we're putting it out here for readers to help:

Does any manufacturer offer HO diesels without DCC or DCC-ready, that are lower priced? -- Bruce S.

Let's concentrate on new, currently available models. Bruce didn't offer any restrictions on size or era.

NP Decals for HO Tichy 53 GSC Flat Car

I acquired two Tichy 52'6" GSC flat car kits. They come undecorated and have no suggestions for decals.  I have built one and have the other in reserve. I am holding back on my SP Historical and Technical Society F70 kit until I retire and have more time to devote to its construction.

How good/quiet is this motor?

I am curious about this motor.  It's pretty cheap, which could either mean a great deal or you get what you pay for.

Flat Car Load

A friend and I were discussing flatcar loads one day. Now, he owns and runs a small engines repair shop and in that shop he also has a sort of hobby shop. It's not the kind you buy detailed parts or the latest engine from Athearn. He strictly buys up other's surplus railroad items or picks up items at swaps meets that he sells on E-bay or at other swap meets.

N Scale Loco Roster

I'll keep a few more photos of my builds and loco roster in this blog for my N scale Arizona & California layout.

Narrow Gauge Couplers

Okay you narrow gauge folks just trying to see who is using Kadee 714 couplers and who is using Kadee 178 couplers. While I was at Durango I was told that the D&RGW used standard gauge couplers on their equipment (I wasn't aware that there was such a thing as narrow gauge size couplers). I'm asking because I bought a Blackstone K27 and it has the 714 couplers but I'd like to use the 178 instead. just wanted to see if anyone else has any input or info that they'd be willing to share.

Thanks!!!
