TOO MANY Structures

Yesterday (and will continue today) I decided to open up some of the bigger boxes in which I had packaged unbuilt structure kits for possible shipment overseas. I wanted to inventory what I had, both as a list, and with photos.

I had way too many ! I just bought up kits over the years as I found them at attractive prices, and/or rare, or no longer available.

Layout progress in 2018

It is the end of 2018 and looking back on the year I made a lot of progress on the layout.

Prototype Photographs 2019

Hi All,

Went to see some trains today with my camera.  Found a couple scenes that you might enjoy looking at.

In the spirit of the holidays I'd like to share them with You.

Hope the year is Happy, Healthful and Prosperous for you.

I’m looking forward to see your prototype photos too!

Why won't static grass work for me?

I made an aplicator out of a fly swatter, and the grass is somewhat standing up, but it won't all stand up and look like grass. What gives?

Experimenting With Static Grass

I have been experimenting with static grass. You can read about it here.

Make Walthers Bascule Bridge Dbl-stack Friendly

It's my understanding that the bascule bridge of Walthers is NOT dbl-stack friendly?

Anyone made modifications??

Gibbard Furniture

The cut down building is now roughly assembled. Have roof work to finish and signage to create. All the pictures I have seen of the prototype have a banner across the front with their name and incept date -- 1835. And a few have a corner roof sign. The windows have been filled in with images from the actual structure taken a couple of years ago on a sunny day. So the reflections are of what is actually across the street. An interesting structure now being torn apart for some developer condo fantasy.

DAS Modeling Clay Tips

I know DAS modeling clay has been suggested to help others in their scenery work. I got this in an email over the holidays and thought others might be interested. It's 34 minutes and in depth.

Sources for assembled trackside industrial structures

Hello! Just starting my first layout, a small HO 2x8 foot shelf. Looking forward to technical and operations side of it but dreading putting together those kits for industries to serve — just not my thing. Looking for suggestions either for ready-built or kit builders for hire. Thinking perhaps of grain silos, warehouses, oil or gas depots, etc. Thanks and Happy New Year everyone.
