Scenery - Structures
WIP UPDATE. CN Intermodal Yard on my Trenton Subdivision in N Scale.
Taking advantage of “Go Home/Stay Home” I have been able to make some progress on my Intermodal Yard. I have finished painting the caution and traffic lines in the yard and stenciled Traffic control points on the concrete pad. More details below.
Adding mortar lines in Nscale.
I model in N scale and do a lot of scratchbuilding. One thing I have had very little experience with is adding mortar to brick walls. I am currently modeling an old station of the big four line. I want to paint the brick but I also wanted to add mortar lines to the structure. I have seen some info on this but it is always in larger scales. What technique(s) do you guys use? I mainly paint my buildings with inexpensive acrylic paints and have been very pleased with the results. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Manns Creek Narrow Gauge in On3
Welcome to my first entry for what will be the blog on my new Manns Creek Railway in On3. I started build in On30 a little more than 10 years ago as a diversion from working in HO scale. At the time I had built a fictional railroad in HO scale called the Roanoke and Southern, which was featured in the May 2010 issue of MR. by the time my article was published is was firmly hooked on O scale narrow gauge. Ho Scale Vineyard... Mistakes were Made
If we learn from our mistakes, next time, we're a genius.
A Working Lighthouse
Our club exhibition layout is a work in progress and on one of the 16 modules we decided to feature a Bar Mills kit “Hunch Landing” (a small fishing wharf/harbour).
The module also hosts one of the exits from staging and this needed to be concealed with a deep cutting/tunnel.
Building interiors
I have recently completed several DPM structures. I would like to download photos that I can use for the interior of these buildings. I would appreciate knowing of any website that you would recommend for this project.
Getting back to work on the layout
I have not worked on anything in almost a year but hope to get back to it soon. I did get the work bench cleaned off so I can get started again.
Below is a link for a video of the last area completed on the layout almost 2 years ago. I did start a couple of old kits last year and will finish those first along with a patch job on a transfer caboose.
WIP Update
WIP Update. My first attempt at patching and crack filling on old paved roadway.
Love 3D printing
I just love 3d printing. I finally learned the software enough to make some items for the railroad. Here are some welded oil tanks for your thoughts.
