Wow, Look at this Brass Interurban I Found (in our stuff!)

NOT FOR SALE

While looking through a bunch of my stuff tonight, I came across an interurban I bought for my wife back in the day when I was making decent money in I.T. She was a fan of and often rode in Chicago, North Shore, and Milwaukee Railroad cars. I got this brass 404-406 Series interurban that was imported by MTS Imports, Inc. for $295 and just found an undecorated one that went for $365. Of course I don't know if decorated adds or decreases its value but since my wife will never let it go, that is a moot point! But it sure is gorgeous!

Styrene for Modern boxcar walls

HI Folks:

IM getting ready to model some modern boxcars, and would really like to find some styrene forms that are suitable for the walls and ends -- I know there is some for old timey box cars, but havent so far found any that works for modern (90s - present) cars.  Can someone point me to a source?

What railroads were present in upper michigan 1970s.

Hello, I'm a new member and I'm starting my 1st layout. I'm modeling the upper peninsula of michigan in the 1970s,in Ho, I have learned that the main railroads I need to focus on for this era are
C&NW
Milwaukee Road
SOO Line
LS&I(Lake Superior & Ishpeming)
My question is,what other railroads may have frequented the upper peninsula, or even may have just passed thru in the 70s.id like to get a little more variety just for my main line loop. Thank you for your time.

Warped Plastic Wall

I'm working on an On30 Cache Creek caboose model that looks like it is 3D printed. The 2 long walls are both warped. I am pretty sure I can dunk these in some hot water and take the warp out.

Question is how hot should the water be?

How long in the water?

And how heavy of a weight do I put on it?

Thanks,   Jack

Removing raised lettering

Hi All,

I recently purchased a used Bachman On30 coach lettered for Denver Rio Grand Western and was planning on repainting to my own road.   I just noticed that the lettering is very thick, so they don't appear to really be decal, but probably just thick paint...  Do I need to use a paint stripper to remove these letters, or is there a better/easier way?  I was hoping not to have to go that route...

Suggestions?

Thanks.

Improving old Mantua tender trucks

Recently, I got a brass Akane engine at a train show. Of course, the original tender was missing and in its place was a rather familiar Mantua model. The overall lines work, but the differences in details require that I look for a different tender, something with a lot more detail. As most know, I spend a lot of time and effort trying to improve what is often thought of trash. I don't know why, but I have fun doing it. So, I am not throwing out that old Mantua.

Help Identifying a CSX Locomotine

Back during this past summer I bought a couple of  HO, CSX locomotives from an estate sale in Jacksonville. I got 2 locomotives, and a steel coil car. I was informed by a relative that the gentleman who owned these was a retired executive of CSX (headquartered in Jacksonville).

One of the locos was an Overland brass model,...
