Locos and rolling stock

I am in need of three Cannon & Company TC-1503 early EMD switcher cabs

Hello again everyone

as work on my SW-1s continues I am trying to find 3 TC-1503 EMD switcher cabs. I contacted C & C and was told that due to some sort of machine problem it would be some time before the cabs would be available. I have been searching the web for hours and have come up with an empty sack, I couldn't even find any on ebay! Do any of you have a spare TC-1503 for sale or know where I might be able to find at least one for my current project, I have a less than half finished TRRA SW-1 in need of some TLC!

Again, thanks for any and all help

Floquil Crystal Cote...or what to put on painted surfaces pre decal??

My jar of Floquil Crystal Cote has run dry...

After a brief search I see that the product may still be available, but with Testors doing odd stuff I am sure if the product as sold is the same as the Floquil of old.

I usually use it on models for a base before decaling, but I can change methods no problem if there is a better option. As a note I generally brush the Crystal Cote on as I am usually decaling already painted surfaces that are flat or matte.

walthers SW-1 rubbed hose replacement

Hello everyone

I have an older run Walthers SW-1 that I'm working on, I want to replace the flexible rubber hose that drives the rear truck. There used to be a tutorial and parts list on the NWSL website but it seems to be gone now.

Can anyone who has done this upgrade let me know what parts you used and some tips on this conversion? I sent an email to NWSL but I haven't heard back from them yet and I feel that I will get better advice here as I'm sure some of you have tackled this upgrade.

Thank you so much for any and all help!

WIRING A SOUND CARD FOR AN HO BURLINGTON GONDOLA WITH CRATES LOAD NO CB & O 83116

I have an HO BURLINGTON GONDOLA WITH CRATES LOAD NO CB & O 83116 with sound.  Over time 2 of the electrical connection on the card broke off and I don't know where to reconnect them.    Does anyone have an idea where the switch wire is connected in the attached picture and are the 2 blue speaker wires connected correctly.  If not, do you know where I can find the schematic to show the wiring diagram.  The 2 wires on bottom left go to the truck.

thanks

Doug

Athearn/Roundhouse old time locomotives

I am considering getting one or two Athearn/Roundhouse "old time" 2-8-0 steam locomotives for my layout. I want the version with DCC and sound. Do any of you have experience with this locomotive that you would be willing to share?

How Do you clean your rolling stock ?

How do you clean the dust and other stuff that seems to collect on your rolling stock and locomotives while they are on the layout ?

Searching for a Smokebox Front - 92" in diameter

I'm in the process of restoring several brass locomotives to operation and need some help with a part!

I am looking for an HO scale USRA-type Smokebox Front that is 92" in diameter.  It will be fitted to a Western Pacific Mikado and is the last item in a significant chain of work on this model.  I have checked with Greenway, Precision Scale, and searched EBay without luck.

Anyone having one that they could part with, please contact me!
