Weekend Train Ride

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeu-tFI7ON8&feature=em-upload_owner

Did a nice train ride this weekend at Niles Canyon between Sunol and Fremont Ca.

Rode down in the restored SP lounge car and back in the open cars.  They stopped for the run by that was great.

Enjoy

Eastern Car Works 90 ton Depressed Center Flat Car

Gents,
Did a search and found nothing about the quality of this particular kit, although I did find lots of generally negative posts on ECW stuff.

But I need a depressed center flat car, plus I like building the cars myself rather than RTR, so wondering if anyone has built this kit, or seen it built up, and can give an opinion as to whether it's worth acquiring?

TIA,
Michael Smith

GP7 Bell - H0

Because Maine Central GP7s in the Harvest Gold scheme are so hard to come by I'm thinking of purchasing and redecorating a Bachmann model.

Can anyone tell me which bell - manufacturer and part number - I would have to buy to match the one in this photo?

or would I need to fashion my own?

Delaware and Hudson HO announcements

Hello,

Does anyone have any info on new announcements for D&H steam and early diesel in HO scale? The supply seems limited at this point.

i picked up the BLI Sharks a few months back just cause they are so cool.

Thanks,

Good track cleaning car--is there such a thing?

I'm wondering if getting a track cleaning car would be a good thing, to help keep the track clean between manual cleanings?  I know that we need to clean the track more often at the club, and I was thinking that a good track cleaning car would help keep things under control.

If I go this route, which ones are good choices, and which are wastes of good plastic?

Did anyone talk to Intermountain about GP10?

I’d like to know if anyone who was at the National Train Show talked with Intermountain about the status of their GP10s? Are they going to make this model a priority and get it done?

I saw the picture Jeff Schultz posted and it looks like there is hardly any progress on that model from almost nine months ago.

It’s been a LONG wait.

Thanks,

Mainline diesels...

Hi all.

What I love the most, and that's where my collection is focused on, are the mainline diesels, like a SD70M, Dash 8-40, and so on...

My big doubt is, is it normal to have these big diesels doing some switching moves. I am doing a small tre track yard, and I want to incorporate one or two industries, like a lumberyard, or a grain silo.

If a train arrives to the yard, and the locomotive can make a run around move, can it make the switching necessary to the industries, or should I have a yard switcher just standing there waiting?

GreenBrier 53' all-purpose stack cars

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knows if there's an HO scale model of the GreenBrier all-purpose 53' stack car? I've seen models of these cast in metal, but these were made some time ago. The ones I'm interested in are the cars with the trailer hitches at the ends.

   Thanks

Are Opera Window Center Beam Cars still in service?

A question for the group...

Are Opera Window style Center Beam Flats still in service after 2012?
I have not seen any for quite some time.

I have a few of these cars in my collection and I'm trying to decide if I should keep them.
