Bachmann On30 4-6-0 disassembly (accomplished)

I have been asked to rewire a Bachmann On30 4-6-0 to NMRA spec, but there does not appear to be any obvious "unscrew here, here, and here to remove the locomotive shell.

Any help would be much appreciated,

Thanks, Skoti.

Question about Atlas Locomotives

For those who have the more recent models made by Atlas, can anyone tell me if the only difference between their sound equipped and non-sound equipped, is the one has a sound decoder and associated electronics for the sound (including speakers) and the other does not.  But everything else is the same.  The reason I ask is, I only want to use Soundtraxx manufactured decoders so I don't want to spend the money for sound equipped locomotives that don't have Sountraxx decoders but I need the space for speakers and the other electronics for sound equipped locomotives, so i'

Intermountain ES44AC - DCC wiring question

I pulled the Loksound decoder out of an Intermountain ES44AC a few months ago and I'm just now getting around to installing a replacement Tsunami IM1000.  I believe the black wire from the rear light board was soldered to a pad at the rear of the Loksound, but the problem is, I don't recall what it was for, and i don't see it mentioned in the Tsunami installation instructions.

Tichy Trucks

Hi all,

I just purchased the six pack of the #4021 flat car kit, from Tichy Train, and want to change out the plastic wheels. I tried my stock of Kadee #530, but way too long. Wheels don't roll.

Wondering what type of metal wheel would be appropriate for the kit truck? The trucks are nice enough to reuse!

Anyone replaced the wheels on Tichy flat cars?

COTS labels and appropriate year

Can anyone help me in determining if this caboose with the labels would be appropriate for 1974? Did these labels come out before or after ACI labels?

Round top/Wagon top boxcars

I realise these were a B&O design but I have three questions about them:

1. Were they used by any other roads?

2. When did they disappear?

3. Were they only 40ft cars?

Thanks!

steve
