KATO GP35 Sound Install
KATO has a line of HO scale GP35 locomotives including a special order Missouri Pacific GP35 I am eyeing.
I have added a Tsunami sound decoder and speaker to an Athearn GP35, which is very easy given the room inside the shell. But not familiar with KATO's GP35 design.
Has anyone here added a sound decoder and speaker to a modern KATO GP35 diesel? If so, are there any body or frame modifications required?

dual-mode NMRA-compliant decoder
If a loco comes with a dual-mode NMRA-compliant decoder, does this mean it will run on a DC system also? Would one have to take the loco apart or would it work right away on the DC track?
Does anyone know what Vintage HO Scale Manufacturer used chain drivs?
I am still going through this collection and have come across a half dozen F7A units that have the motor a part of the rear truck with the motor and wheels connected by a chain drive, with a connecting rod between the rear and front trucks. I don't see any molded ID for the manufacturer and was wondering if anyone has any idea who made such units?
Question brake details of B&O M-53
I would like to ask you about a detail of a brake detail on a B&O M-53 which exist on other more modern freight cars also, I think.

Genesee & Wyoming Orange
I'm looking to do some Quebec Gatineau units in the parent Genesee & Wyoming orange. Any thoughts or recommendations for a paint match. There doesn't seem to be any specific GWRY orange out there, although individual units show some remarkable variations in what should be a baseline colour.
Converting trainline to DCC--pracitcal?
I found an old Walthers Trainline loco in the frieldly local hobby shop. Normally, I'd pass; it's much too modern--but since it's MBTA, I'm contemplating picking her up, if a DCC conversion's reasonably doable. Anyone know if it;s easy, or a nightmare?
Removing paint from Locos & Rolling Stock
I have used 91% alcohol with decent success but there are stubborn areas that I have trouble with. Years ago ( 20 or more ) we used a remover that you brushed on and did excellent. I thought it was Poly S. Does anyone know if there is anything like that out there today ??
Atlas C-424 Phase 3 Master series with Loksound decoder
Good day everyone,
I recently purchased this undecorated loco on sale at one of my local HS. I am pretty stocked about owning a "Master" series with sound! I have a question on the decoder tho. How many functions does the Loksound decoders have in these locomotives? 2, 4 or 6? I have been looking for this formation in the manual, but all it says so far is that they have functional dichtlights (if equipped), but it didn't come with DL, just front/rear headlights.

Need Help Identifying Manufacturer some HO Freight Cars

I recently purchased a collection, and I am trying to identify the manufacturer of the Freight Cars (the model manufacturer NOT the prototype!). As I go through the cars, and find ones I have questions for, I will post them in this thread, so when answering, please be sure to be specific when identifying which model you are giving answers for!
