Amwaco, Idaho Depot

This depot was put in service at Amwaco, Idaho in 1910 and was used till about 1922.  On the Lake Creek and Coeur d'Alene Railroad line, which ran from Manito, WA about 14 to 18 miles to Lake Coeur d'Alene.  They carried passengers to Amwaco to a steam ship Harrison, that transported them to Harrison, Idaho then they boarded a train to travel on up to the Silver Valley and Wallace, Idaho

Modern freeway overpasses

I model in n-scale and modernish.  I wonder if anyone has seen or made anything that resembles the flowing freeway overpasses that are so common in California.  There are RIX overpasses, but they are strait and flat.  I have seen some bent somewhat, but I am looking for something that looks like the overpasses that appear like in this picture.

Maybe something like this: http://www.visualphotos.com/image/2x3810312/freeway_overpasses_low_angle...

Our icehouse is also based on a NYO&W design to match the creamery.

I am building the Branchline Creamery and the ice house. I tried to look up some information on this ice house, but could not find much. I don't have a clue what the tall doors with the tall side ladders are for. I did find one person that scratch built a copy of this ice house, His picture showed hinges on the doors.

Can any one give me some information on the ice house, a picture perhaps?

Thank You

Cutting long sheets straight

I am curious how people do this.  I have an exacto miter box, in fact two, one that will hold about 2" wide strips and one that will hold about 1 1/2".  One is plastic and came with a finer razor saw, the other uses a bigger and less fine razor saw.

When you want to cut something down though that is long but wider than will fit in a mitre box, how is the best way to do it?  I've been trying several ways and I have gotten pretty good, but I wish there were something more like a  miter box or guide for longer cuts.

Faller Roller Coaster kit comments

I built the Faller Fair series Roller Coaster and this is what I learned:

The parts are very precision and fit together very well making me wonder why other plastic kits are not made to the same precision.

Anyone from Rhode Island?

Hi,

I am trying to get pics for my backdrop that will work with the town idea on my layout.  I tried google and searching the web but can't seem to find any thing that works into my scenes.  I really am looking for street views that would fit.  Anything that you all can advise will be very helpful.  Thanks all.

I've seen the light! Well Oil Paints & Washes anyhow...

Tonight while doing some airbrushing I decided whilst waiting for the paint to dry I'd have a go at doing some washes and oil paint weathering...

Now I have been researching the Internet & YouTube the last few days getting pointers, but for a first go man I'm impressed by what can be achieved by using these.  I've basically started out just doing some dirt runs, rust spots and runs, tire marks & wear marks and some highlights on timber.

Depots

Here are the Eagle Lake Depot pics.

You will have to rotate 2 of them.

This building is now gone!!

UP tore it down and put up a mini shed at the Eagle Lake yard last year.
