DCC question
I am installing a Econami into a Proto FA1 using the replacement board with a plug for their current keeper, however due to size I am using a TCS KA4. The KA4 comes with a plug,
but it is not compatible with the Econami plug. Soundtraxx sells a jumper (double ended) that is compatible. By cutting in half I get two plugs. By cutting off the TCS plug and soldering
on the Sountraxx compatible plug I can simply plug it in and avoid the tiny solder pads. The dilemma is the two have different colored wires. Both have a blue (normally commom) and
Looking for Bachmann Shay Decoder Install Experience
Hi,
I'm just about to do a Soundtrax sound decoder install in a HO Bachmann Shay that I purchased over a decade ago that is "DCC Ready". Looking for hints or tips from anyone that has experience doing this. To tell the truth, I'm a little scared.
Thanks in advance,

Infrared obstacle avoidance module/sensor
Hello DCC train modelers
I'm looking for advice on using an Infrared obstacle avoidance module connected to a DCC Concepts IP Cobalt turnout. The purpose is to have the module detect an on coming train and when the switch/points are in the wrong position the sensor/module will signal the Cobalt switch to change the points.
Anybody out there who has done this or have any knowledge/experience on how to do this it would be great to here from you?
Best regards
Paul
I need some help from the electronic wizos like Dr Bunza........
.....for a project for my friends still using DC. Miniatronics sells a constant intensity light circuit that work very well but uses incandescent bulbs. I would like to substitute LEDs. I do not believe they will work with this circuit as they are polarity sensitive where incandescent bulbs are not.
is there an easy way to do this? My friends are in O scale so super small size is not an issue.
Thanking you in advance.

How do I install a keep-alive in the new Atlas S4 with a 21-pin decoder?
Hello,
I’ve sent Atlas two emails about this with no response, and my Google searches have been fruitless, so i’m hoping someone on this forum can help me out...
Help me wire my hidden staging
Hello all! I am just about to the point where I will be building my benchwork for my new layout and first up will be my hidden staging tracks. I want to ensure that I construct everything in the proper way to ensure that wiring goes smoothly so I figured I'd ask this question sooner rather than later.
My preference for operating my hidden staging would be as follows:
Laying Rail in my Helix, hints/suggestions
I'm finally ready to lay some track in my helix structure, ....Atlas CODE 100 flex track.
Looking for a few hints/suggestions.
I'll be attaching the Atlas track to my reinforced and painted/weather-proofed masonite roadbed. It will be a double radius installation of 32" & 29".
Naturally I will be starting at the lowest level, and working my way upward so as to have the best/clear access to the tracks. Probably be able to do a full half circle at a each shot.
Re-railers, any problems & can there be too many
Can there be TOO MANY rerailers on a layout plan?
I'm not talking about those obviously overt ones that are just plainly not needed, but rather extra ones to help assure no lengthy derails not being caught.
Are there negatives associated with the Atlas re-railers??....CODE 100
Digitrax DS64
I purchased a Digitrax DS64 with the idea of controlling my Tortoise switch machines either by push button switches or from my throttle. My concern is that the Tortoise switch machine is only rated up to 12VDC, whereas the output voltage on the Digitrax DS64 is 13.8VDC. will this harm my Tortoises or do I need to alter the output voltage?
Thanks.
Fast Tracks turnouts - personal additional steps
IF you build fast tracks turnouts, are there any additional steps you always perform while you're building them that aren't part of the recommended/documented instructions?
