Track and electrical/DCC
Do you map functions on DCC-decoders consitently?

I would certainly like them to support the same functions as the rest of my roster, so my operators can be assured that F4 will always be "coast" and F7 will always be "brake", regardless of consist.
I have been thinking posting a question about this for a long time, but never made it.
Heat problem with micro tsunami?
Hi,
I just finished an install of the micro tsunami in a Bachmann GE 45 ton loco per the Trainmaster video.
I am having heat problems with it; wants to shut down after short running. Time is like 15 or so minutes and is back and forth switching at moderate speeds. I ordered a package of the thermal epoxy that Bruce mentions, but am waiting for it to arrive. Was wondering if any one has experience with this loco install and how they might have accomplished it. I have several of the micro's in SW switchers with no problems.

Michael Rose does his LED strips - a video
On my recent visit to Michael Rose's wonderful layout he was nice enough to do a "How to" video on his LED lighting strips that he assembles and uses to light his layout. (And yes, I did get some yummy cake and coffee - more on that in a later post!)

Walthers 90' DCC Turntable and reversing polarity
I'm at a roadblock on wiring the Walthers 90's DCC Turntable. I've done extensive reading on both this forum and many other forums along with various websites, like http://www.wiringfordcc.com/track_2.htm. The Walthers TT is supposed to auto-reverse polarity on the bridge track. The red mark is the "dead zone" on the drawing of the TT.

*** UPDATED 12-3-14 Your help please in a setting in the Digitrax DSC-50 Zephyr control
*** UPDATE*** I sent an email to Digitrax about this problem and received an email response in minutes; however, I had already tried their suggestion and it didn't work. When I emailed them back I got a phone call from them about 5 minutes later - talk about customer service!!!
After trying a few things with them it was determined that my DCS50 has a problem that will require returning it to Digitrax for repair. Thanks to all who tried to help!

In search of 16V AC
I've been looking for a 16V AC source - went through all my old RR transformers - closest was 15V AC and a couple at 18. Checked my pack-rats box of old plug in the wall transformers from various and sundry devices. None said 16V AC.
But I found one - or thought I had. Bought an old TYCO Blue "Pike" power pack that said it put out 16V AC.
Brought it home and put decided to test it to ensure it was still working as it did look a little ancient.

Walthers 90' Turntable Stop 1?
In several places the instructions for the Walthers 90' turntable (DCC version) talk of Stop #1 and to refer to the template to see where that is. Unfortunately, it's not on the template. The optical sensor is referred to as the zero point but is not equated to stop #1 anywhere. Maybe that's it?
I searched the MRH search and Google with no results.
Anyone else solve this issue? Thanks.

Animated Mining Moves
EDIT: clarified step 5, where there should be no intermediate stops on the way back down.
I would like to animate a segment of my layout that is a stand-along section of track. It is the track that goes to the top of one of the crushing plants. There is a long incline, trestle and the crusher itself.
