TMTV general discussion

I'm likin MRH and TMTV

Specially Miles Hales presentations. They are clear, concise and understandable.I would like to see more tips on the Crucut paper cuttting machine. I also get a kick outta Lionel Strang. A guy with Lionel for a name can't be too bad. At first I wondered about video magazines but I found out I could take my laptop, (Im too cheap to buy a tablet) to bed with me. Bill in Idaho

Tablet woes...

Got a Surface Pro 3 and have been using it to surf MRH with no issues. However, when I click on 'Goodies' it always takes me straight to a community page or something. I don't get the pull-down menu like I do on every other computer I've used. Sometimes I can see the pull-down, but it goes away as soon as I try to tap on TrainMasters.  What am I doing wrong? Not in general, just with this particular procedure. I know I need to exercise more and eat better and some other stuff my doctor said but I wasn't listening.

thanks

Randy

Trainmasters Subject Suggestion

I'd like to see a video demonstrating prototypical sound operation sequences. For instance start up, release brakes, revving up, coasting, coupling, etc. It would be cool to have a split screen with one shot of the model going through the sequences and the other showing the operators hand working the throttle.

Siskiyou Line revisited?

As a recent subscriber to TMTV, I’ve been enjoying many of the videos, especially the early Siskiyou Line videos that Joe Fugate produced.

Joe:  any chance TMTV could revisit your layout and give us another tour to see the progress on your layout? Unless I missed something, the last video segment produced on your layout was in 2007.

They’re great videos and I would love to see how the layout has progressed.

Poor man's laser cutter alternative for $200?

TrainMasters TV product review - the Cricut Explorer - automated cutting machine for $200

You have to see this amazing new product to believe it - this video review is on TrainMasters TV and wide open for all to view!

RIP Ed Reutling

I read that Ed Reutling passed away yesterday. Those that knew him know what we have lost. For those that didn't know him Ed was a prolific modeler and scratch builder and a willing teacher to anyone who asked for his assistance. Ed was scratch building O scale models to get what he wanted in the days before Atlas O and the other RTR stuff. If Ed wanted something he'd spend a few days cutting, gluing, painting, etc. then post a photo of the finished product. If anyone else wanted one Ed would mold up some copies and send them to you for a few bucks.

Layout Lighting

In your recent copy, you had a notice about lighting for your layout.

The Modeler , after doing some searching , found LED strip lighting. Inexpensive, and easy to install

A friend of mine has been using a brand that has been coming out of Chins, and has ( I believe ) 4 colors.

Red , White, Blue, and Yellow. It also comes with a control pad the you can chose which color you want, and

you can also dim the light.

this gives you the opportunity to go from daylight to sunset to evening.
