Atlas Gold Series RS-3 Opinions
For some reason, I really desire an RS-3 in CN green and yellow.
I have a Bachmann GP-9 that I really like (after I put in a TCS DP2X). When I got it was a toss between that one and the RS-3. I have been bitten by the sound bugs and really want to hear that Alco sound.
I have searched, but have not found much reviews on the Atlas RS-3 Gold series (LokSound) and was wondering if anyone had experience with one and what their thoughts / opinions were.
In-ko-pah RR: Upgrade projects
The past few months, I've had no time for modeling due to a lot of "real life" obligations. I'm finally starting to get a little bit of time, and have used it for a couple of upgrade projects on my 1/24th scale In-ko-pah Railroad...
Bowser C636 - surprised nobody has mentioned it here
I am surprised that nobody has posted anything about the new Bowser C636's and their attendant issues. Some other forums have literally exploded with comments about them. Here is my experience with the one I received last week:
Weight in older athearn F7
I'm upgrading my older athearn F7's to DCC. I put the decoder on top of the motor, but the weight will not fit over it. I tried milling some of the metal but I cannot get a good cleareance. Do I need to put the weight back in? I'm affraid of loosing traction.

different roads pulling same train
Why do I see trains with engines from more than one road. A couple of weeks ago I saw a train with a single KCS unit on point with 2 UP engines and 2 CSX engines behind. Is this some kind of alternative to getting a routing across a foreign road.
Quebec & New England HO Layout
Hello
I have received numerous requests from my YouTube subscribers (QNERailroad) to post my layout's track plan, so I thought I'd give this forum a try. I don't know how well it will show up, but here goes. I added some colour to the visible level track plan to make it a little more readable. It's not perfect. It still needs scenery/ground cover and a hint of ballast, but that requires more time than I can spare at the moment. The hidden staging track plan includes the two helices. Enjoy.

Progress continues on the Colorado Front Range Railroad.
1) Results of my test running diesel locomotives versus steam locomotives pulling up the ruling grade. Maybe not what you expected my Broadway Limited 2-10-2's vs SD9's
The winner pulled 6.4 lbs up the 1.2% grade (with a curve)
2) John got much of the electronics figured out to this week including our block detectors.
3) Sean got a little more track laid and the entire sub roadbed for the yards in Denver.
answer to the blog question and problems that I posted early:
Genesis F7 underframe?
Is the underframe the same for both the A & B unit? I don't have a parts list. Thanks.
