Seattle and North Coast N scale Kato F7

My next entry is my nearly completed Seattle and North Coast Kato F7.  I have not done any custom painting in a very long time so I am pretty impressed it turned out pretty well.  I have some minor details to add such as a roof beacon, winterization hatch, and some MU hoses, and a decoder.  This was fun to do since no one has done a commercially available unit in this scheme in N scale.

Newbie

Hi my name is Bobby I'm new to the model train world, I'm from Massachusetts, and I want to build a ho train set from the northeast, I am thinking of starting out with a boston and maine setup, I was just a little confused in where to begin. Is there a big difference in quality with each model company and Is there a difference when purchasing a locomotive such as beginner to expert or is it all just about preference.

thank you

Atlas RS3 help

I have a beautiful Atlas HO scale RS3 that I painted. It is a great runner and one of my favorites.

Unfortunately I was trying to straighten the end handrails and hopelessly destroyed one with alittle too much heat. I contacted ATLAS and replacements are not available. Any suggestions or does anybody have one in a parts box. I will appreciate any help. Part # is 707208. Mine are black and I will pay if I can find one.

Thanks NJWG

MTH FA-1/FB-1 Quality

I am considering acquiring a set of MTH DC (yes, there still are a few of us non-DCC luddites) FA-1/FB-1 in CPR script.  Can anyone advise on the body and truck detail and paint quality, and the running quality of these models? I want to MU them with Altas, Bowser and Katoi units.

Thanks
