Still Conceptualizing

Subject: On30 track plan for my garage attic
Below is a plan I've started building now that the weather is improving and muddy issues are behind us.

Old railroad - new direction

After months of trying to shoehorn Richard's surviving pieces of his HO railroad I gave up. Rather, I gave in to my narrow gauge bug. A layout design in a publication got me thinking. What if I salvaged as much track as possible and us it for an On30 layout? The switches and flex track were not coming up intact anyway so I thought I'd relay them on longer and wider spaced ties. A sample of may little staging in progress are is attached.

Adventures in Laser Cutting: Protection Devices

So when my Laser cutter got here, one of the first things I noticed is that my water pump was not the best of the batch, and had an issue starting up.  Seeing as how it was so silent, I'd probably not be able to tell if the pump was running or not from sound alone.  A dead pump means I could lose my tub in a matter of hours, as opposed to months or years.

So I found these little flow meters on Ebay with a self contained thermometer.  I thought I give them a whirl, so I picked up a 5V power supply and all the incidentals.

The Buffalo Division gets visitors....

OK.  Many thanks to others here on the forum for the assistance....we'll try these again.

A good friend of mine has made me realize that I am not attending my hobby like I should, and am missing out on a few things.  So, I put the FRA, my grip, and my Hi-Vis aside to spend some time in the Man-Cave, and run the Division like the railroad world was before the lawyers and bean-counters took over pulling pins & calling hitches.

Cars with interiors

I have been working on cars that have interiors, specifically cabooses. A caboose is a good candidate to have an interior. They were used in the early part of the last century as a mobile office. They had closets, desks, a stove for heat and a coffee pot. Some had sleeping bunks and a cupola for a better view of the train.
