Athearn F45 DCC sound

I have had my NCE powercab for a while now and have only over the last few months come into purchasing my first sound loco. The first thing is apparently you can change how to loco functions by changing the CVs...I have no clue how to come up with the Value after i put in the CV ? or even if i am putting in the correct CVs at all ?

Any help with this would be great, be kind I am new to world of programing decoders (haven't attempted it before now)

Nick.

A Marion 4160 Shovel for the GE 85 Tonner

As part of the mine I need a shovel to move the ore. There are a lot of modern track hoes and other mining equipment out there, but none of that would be right for an early 1900's steeple cab locomotive. HBM&S, Bingham mine and some of the Missabe range mines had the 4160 series Marion Shovel. So here it is ready to dig ore in HO scale...sort of.

SKY PAINTING TIME ON GRANDE PACIFIC

Time to get back to work on Grande Pacific. It's sky painting time. Going to tackle a large section of upper level and try and finish it. First step remove cars and buildings. I will try and shot video during painting. Visit the Grande Pacific Facebook page and join to get notices of a lot of great activities in Model Railroading. https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/ahouston3/

Cargos for open cars

The last few days I made some cargos for my open cars. All loads are removable within seconds, without even touching the car.

Playing in the locomotive shop!

Hello again finally,

Wow, another long lapse in a blog entry from me, but as you can see below, I've put a lot of that time to good use.

All three locomotives work

I've spent some time over the past few weeks with the QD electronics cleaner with limited success. I finally took today off and got out my Xacto knife and scraped a bit of carbon from the brushes area of the Bachmann GP50. It now runs pretty well, but I think I will order a new motor for it. That should fix it right up.

IAIS's West End - fun Tsunami revelations - now with video

I mentioned this in one of the recent RailPro threads, but have been enjoying these changes so much that I felt they deserved more visibility.  I don't claim to originate any of the information that follows, but have been a grateful consumer.  Hopefully other Tsunami users find something useful here.

Working the BNML at Emerson with RailPro - Video

I've seen some basic demo videos for RailPro, but nothing that shows a regular use scenario.
SO... I made a little operations video to share with you today.

Sorry in advance for the unscripted and generally poor quality of the video.
I hope you find it useful and informative anyway!

Please see Take Two for the 1 handed demo.

Here is the original video:
