Pembroke II: Mutant Bullfrogs
I decided to use Fast Tracks Bullfrog Manual Turnout Controls for controlling the turnouts on Pembroke. I tested these out at a show a couple of years ago, and liked the positive clunk compared to some other systems. I also liked the price (you're getting to know me by now), and finally I like the fact that they're wood.

weathered cars
After seeing the un-weathered car pass by in the Extra east video I got to work and weathered some more cars. Here are before and after pictures of one of them.
The cars sure look better now. I just dusted them with chalks.
Starting to look a lot like the HBR
Sing it to the tune of "It's starting to look a lot like Christmas". It has been a while since my last update so I thought a quick update was in order. Some progress has been made on lower staging but nothing blog worthy. Too many other things like work, home and family going on to focus much on track work.

THE GREAT NORTHERN TWIN CITIES RAILWAY 2014 HO
Owner Lee Hehl is the creator of the marvel of model railroad operations. This great layout is one to follow for building a layout for operations. Peco switches and code 100 track, none of it is soldered together, and little is ballasted. Their are only powered switches in staging and everything is in easy reach. Enjoy. Open post for Pt 2
Part 2 follows

Algonquin Railway Gondolas
Here is a pic of my first home road cars. P2k Gondolas modified to look more like Canadian prototypes built by National Steel Car. I Still need to weather them, but I am happy with this first effort. More info on my newly created Blog.
