Sanity returns to the BNML (prototype)
Well, since the BNML was invaded by the forces from the south, traffic has been haywire.
Daily trains were reaching lengths of 200+ cars. Nuts!, I KNOW!

Ops session check list & Mon night mail
After I forgot to turn the waybills for a train at an operating session on the Kanunda and Emu Flat Railway I decided that I needed a check list to make sure that I did not overlook anything again. Having every detail attended to before makes for an enjoyable session.
During the afternoon prior to an evening operating session after I clean the track then run every train on the layout and run a train through every turnout on the layout. Doing that and checking off the check list makes sure that in inspect the whole layout.
A Couple of Completed Cabooses
I've finished final details on a couple of cabeese for my little railroad, come along to see what's new!
A place to DO paperwork on the BNML
One thing working with my paperwork made abundantly clear...
is that I needed to install my crew workstation shelves.
So that's what I did today.
Eventually these will be come enshrouded by my fascia.
Where does the time go.
It really is amazing how quickly time passes! It has been almost 3 years since my last post - December 2011, I think.
Well, there is not much to report as far as layout progress, time, money and space are in short supply. I am pleased, however, with the completion (for the time being, I keep thinking of small details to add) of my coal mine model - you can get a little look at it in my photo attachment. Hopefully it isn't resized in such a way so as to take too much away.
Single Stall Engine House Part 3
I'm still working on the two tone paint and I've tried some of the tips shown in the following pics.
First tip, I applied the tape and with the end of a paint brush pressed it down between the battens. second I applied a coat of the vintage white over the edge of the tape.
Next I applied the Green.
Dual gauge crossing build with dueling power supplies. Sierra vs. Westside
One of the layouts I operate on is Ed Petry’s Sierra Railroad. He has now started the last portion of building the Sierra and all its interchanges in the hills of Northern California by building the Westside Lumber Company. It will stretch from Tuolumne up to camp 45.

Paperwork on the BNML
My recent Op Session gave me an opportunity to test drive my homebrew Car Card & Routing system.
The system is a modified version of the Car Card and the TIBS system.
This blog is a continuation of my entry called Blocking the BNML
