How To: Squeeze Bottle Ballast Spreader
Here's a simple, easy and cheap way to make a ballast spreader. Start with any cheap water bottle.
Then remove the stopper and cut the sides off clips that hold it in place.
Lastly I used a step bit to enlarge the hole to 5/16" to work with fine ballast.

The Super Chief - First Complete Run around the N-Scale ATSF Paradigm Division
The layout is now operational and full passenger and freight trains can now be run in both the westbound and eastbound directions and to and from the staging level. The project to complete the area inside of the east helix that will house the engine facility and coach yard is now in the planning stage.
Fast food restaurant
At the last US Model RR Convention in Rodgau, Germany, I was impressed by a Chop Suey fast food place on one of the modular layouts. I took some photos planning to look up who was making the structure thinking it would look good on my layout.
Turns out it was not a kit but a kitbashing project by Peter Speiser of the Stuttgart Model Railroaders Club, who was very kind in pointing me to the original Faller kit he started with.

Weathering Frenzy
Here I will post photos of the cars (and cars) I weathered today after school at the Railcats meeting
Roundy, round and then some - adding a switching module.
So when you don't really have the room to dedicate to a permanent layout and are given a decent little roundy, round my a fellow forum member, how do you make it a little more enjoyable than seeing 6 car trains doing circles?
You build a #6 18/24 curved turnout so you can connect a switching "module".

My weathering kit:
I ground some chalks and made some separators so here is my weathering kit.
The big brush is not part of it. The items include (a car I recently wetheared) ground powdered chalks, A pencil sharpener (for grounding chalks, and exacto for finer powder, softip foam things and a brush along with a thing of testors rust paint. It definitely works well (and you can fit a freight car in the large storage side (YAY)

Where was the post that talked about a digital readout soldering pencil?
I can't find it anymore and wanted to order the one for ~$55.
