Distant Mountains with haze - painted background
Used Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch Ultra Cover 2x Spray Paint for clouds and mountains backgrounds. It is the armature & lazy way to do back drops. So be it, you get what you get.
More links below photos include the room construction. If you want to see how I started this or care.
Making progress on the Sawmill Roof
In my last blog post i shared some pictures of my mill project.
After some inspiration i sat down this evening to tackle the next section of trusses. Im trying to get various roof angles and things for this project. the middle section i want the roof a little higher to allow better viewing from the layout edge.
I had made up the very first section as a skilion roof and then made the first truss of the next section.
The issue i come across in my planing is the height of the verticle on the left in the photo.
Layout in a day!
Now THIS is a layout in a day! He says it took him ten hours (he took an hour off for lunch, so nine hours)
This gives me some ideas for building modules.
TT & TO help for the Ruphe and Tumbelle
I'm currently expanding the R&T and am looking to get back to ops again. We (about three or four of us) have been running With a Time Table but without any Train Orders, or dispatcher. Being a small narrow gauge layout with few trains being run the job of a dispatcher would be a bit boring, so we have worked without one. This works well if everybody is on time, but, of course, that usually isn't the case!
My question is this:
Light effcts
Hello all,
I was try to make new better videos of my light effects. (description)
First one is welding. I added small sound effect, It more impress people watching model, especially the sound is little low (they hear but do not trust).
Second one is small fireplace - better in locomotive
Coatesville
Coatesville is a major city at about the midpoint on my layout, home of Lukens Steel Co.
BQR Control Panel Update
As with everything on a model railroad layout, after I thought I was finished I had an inspriation as to how to connect a second RRampMeter to the other booster. And had been working on the train elevator and came up with a way to integrate its control with the panel.
Eastbound on the St J and LV with all leased power
The video and related entries are no longer representative of the present state of the layout. Many changes have occurred since. Seen much more recent entries/diagrams to get a sense of the layout's arrangement. We usually limit the number of cars to 24-28 but cn do longer trains if a helper arrangement is used. I'll see what I can do for a fresh video.
30th Street Station update
I've been working on some overdue updates to my S Scale model of Philly's 30th Street Station. I put in a concourse featuring a representation of the "Transportation" sculpture and a ticket purchase area. I also put in some LED lighting fed off of an Arduino.
Admiring the "Transportation" sculpture in the concourse.
Never thought I could fall in love with a commuter train :D
Well, This German S-bahn commuter will shortly be transformed into something very Swedish.. BUT! It will hurt my heart to remodel this beauty... A tutorial is coming up later for the transform..
