This is great approach to a video.  Have my own video of this layout and it really worth a visit. 

A big pet peeve of mine is to hear more about how easy and quick a model was built, rather than the enjoyment it produced. While not everyone is in this hobby for the therapy, some do indeed relax with the hobby. And if you do, do us all a favor and share it. We need to reign in this hobby from being an expensive competition to being a hobby for me, and you I guess.

Below are some weathering attempts. I used the technique from Ralph Renzetti on Trainmasters TV and added some AIM weathering powders. I think the engines may have been a little heavy but overall I am not displaeased with the way it worked out.

About two weeks ago I attended an operating session on my friend Matthias Great-britN modular layout with his Penzance and Parbourne stations.

I have the Walthers, Cornerstone “Centennial Mills” kit.  A very popular kit, seen on many layouts. I would like to build and finish the kit as a derelict factory, but I need some help on techniques, as I am new to the hobby and have little modeling experience.  The three following images are examples of derelict factories.  The first two are a bit extreme, but for ideas.  The third is probably closer to what I would like the mill to look like.  Please show us your derelict factories and indicate the method, technique, tips, etc.

BACKGROUND

Having been a modeler for the last 25 years, I have surprisingly little to show for my accomplishments. I think that is because I have collected stuff at train shows and off of eBay with the thoughts and dreams of, "someday, I'll do this..." That qualifies me mostly as an armchair model railroader.

I'm starting to try out some layout/model photography and purchased a second-hand Nikon Coolpix P4 a few years back, but haven't really used it much (preferring the iPhone).
