Hi all.

The second half of this year has been a bit slow model train wise. I did manage to paint a few figures but not much else.

Here's hoping 2018 is a better year.

I ordered my first scaletrains.com engine and really can't find anything wrong with it or the customer service when figuring out shipping... It was the UP SD40-2 in the operator scheme and the paint to me looked amazing and even with a nice tone getting that yellowish orange hue. I have yet to run it it but from what I hear they run great so kudos to them I recommend getting any of their products (and this is 100% honest and unsolicited)

In order to have a certainly amount of variability in our traffic and simulate slight variations in customer demand so that some customers don't always get cars in a session, at our club we developed a basic spreadsheet using a random number generator function to come up with how many cars to order for different customers or car types.

The new layout is officially underway. Following the design of a bigger layout for a future space, and using TOMA concepts I designed a layout for my current space which includes some key modules from the future layout along with some very few disposable modules.

I own eight Tam Valley Depot Hex-Frog juicers and have been very happy with their performance and it has really enhanced the operations on the layout especially with the sound decoder equipped locos.  I purchased these directly from the vendor.

The other day while working on the layout my Digitrax DB150 command station started acting erratically and it appeared as though a short was occurring on the layout but the power district circuit breakers from Tony's Train Exchange were not indicating a short.
