LA, Pasadena & Cucamonga RR: Backdrops...

Hello everyone,

Following some work i finally got the backdrop finished on the Pasadena subdivision. Since this is a disposable backdrop (wont survive a move most probably), i went for a lighter construction. It is made using EPS foam (30mm) and PVC sheets for the coved corners. Painted with acrylic house paint mostly.

RPi3/DCC Work Cart

Just wanted to share my "keep the peace" work cart. Although we have been married for almost 50 years, my wife is not yet tired of me! She much prefers that we spend significant time together, even we are not directly communicating.

Raspberry PI, JMRI, NCE Powerhouse Pro, Android, Engine Driver

I have had JMRI for quite awhile now and just recently I took advantage of that to successfully try to use it for wireless train control for my NCE Powerhouse Pro. I downloaded the free Engine Driver for both my Android phone and my Kindle from enginedriver.mstevetodd.com (also available at Google Play). I have JRMI installed on my Raspberry Pi computer and gave it a shot. Worked exactly as the instructions in Engine Driver said it would, though to get at the Tools/Throttles/Start WiThrottle Server, I had to open PanelPro3, not DecoderPro3.

Goldfield Mercantile

Monster Modelworks makes some really nice kits and their 3 story starter kit is available with a laser printed sign.  I ordered one with Goldfield Mercantile for the sign and painted and assembled it this weekend.  By the second decade of the 20th century, many buildings in these Nevada mining towns were being made from brick or stone as the wood buildings tended to burn down with some frequency, so I thought this would make a good contrast to the many frame buildings on the layout.  Here is a photograph of an existing building still standing in Goldfield.

Westhaven Industrial Rwy. : Control Panel Buttons

I had an idea and acted on it, now am wondering if I did the right thing. My turnout throwing system needs only a SPST switch. I decided on a rectangle rocker switch as shown here:

Then realized that might not look right on a control panel. Here is a visual mockup:

Concrete Building Piers - Foundation Parts

Has anyone seen a source for cast concrete foundation piers in HO scale?  I'm speaking about the precast concrete structures - typically about 18" square at the base, tapering to about 12" square at the top, designed to carry the structure of a raised wooden floor system?  Any suggestions appreciated before I go try to cast them myself in Hydrocal.

Thanks
