So You was to place signals on your Modelrail road.....Well you are going to need so way to detect your trains. let's look at what you will need the short series will will look into senors and setting them up in JMRI .

August 2018 running video - Let's run some trains!

A lot of different eras and types of trains represented at the August 2018 op session running the layout(s).  Track work is done on the Inside Gateway mainline section.  I hope to complete scenery (basic not hyper-detailed) in time for the holiday open house this December.  Some of the guys got to run the narrow gauge too.  Enjoy!

Smyrna Spur - Milestones

It's been about two months since my first update, but this afternoon's work session leaves me with a good sense of accomplishment.  Overall, I'm pleased with the results, although there are a few spots with minor workmanship issues.

I may be half way around the world right now, but this has not stopped my propensity to acquire new materials or hunt down new projects.  Indeed, it appears projects seem to accumulate on my workbench at the same rate as they did before - it's High time we get some of them out of the ether and completed!

Kit Bashing the Great Western Loveland Pulp Warehouse

The last structure to be added to the model Great Western Loveland yard is the beet pulp warehouse. The warehouse received beet pulp and molasses from the factory. The pulp and molasses were pelletized and stored in bulk bins and burlap bags until it was needed.  The pellets were shipped in covered hoppers and box cars to feed mills for cattle feed.
