Mike Confalone new video Allagash Up close and personal

On the ad for Mike's video is a great looking scene.  Use of a photo backdrop I assume.  Looking for information such as an article by Mike about how he created that scene.

Thanks

It is on page 33 of the Vol. 101 July 2018 issue of MRH magazine.

My track plan and prototype history

Hey everyone!

Finally got around to coming up with a track plan for my new layout, the Chicago & Northwestern Marshline Subdivision.  My latest video talks about the history of the Marshline and shows you the track plan I came up with while trying to best use the space I have.

I'd love to hear what you think!  Thanks for watching.

This is an event that takes a lot of set up, and some of the vendors and modular layouts have been working at set up since yesterday ...

Op Session #8 : OpSig National Convention Session

On Aug 5th I hosted an operating session for Operations Special Interest Group members going to the NMRA National Convention.  Five intrepid conventioneers ran a first shift session on the W&N Branch.  I also want to thank Bob Allan and my son Andy for helping with the session.

Rick Stern, the Wilmington Yardmaster , classifies cars on the lead while Howard Gardner brings No 51, the north local into Montchanin.

Jefferson Plywood Madras Oregon HO scale Shelf Layout

I had to take down my Madras Switching layout a few years ago and I was disappointed that my Jefferson Plywood building had ended up in storage. I really liked the unique look of the building but I really did not have a plan or a place for it. In the recent issue of MRH the idea building a free standing layout by Joe with his Siskiyou II gave me an idea. I  really like the look of the built in backdrop and valance, but I am wanting to build something narrower that I can hang on the wall.

accurate ore jennies for CN

Conventional wisdom has it that the CN ore jennie fleet all had 4 side ribs to support the lower hopper of the car in this style: http://www.cnrphotos.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=16437 .  Unfortunately no one makes an exact model of this car, most models are of the more common  Missabe car version with 2 support ribs: https://digital.library.cornell.edu/catalog/ss:20864701.
