Middle School Model Railroad: a blunder, but is it a FATAL blunder?

I know better, but it looks like I’m going to do it anyway: hidden staging.

George Sinos: call out

Working on fleshing this out,  22.5" x 99"  wall along back and right edge.  Curve is access to main layout.

Atlas code 80 track and customline turnouts.

Goal is to start building this in around 3 to 4 months

Source for Laser Board

Any of you that are using laser cutters know of a source for a product called "laser board?"  I had some buildings custom cut.  This material was used for trim work.  Worked really well.  Think it's about 0.015" thick.

Thanks in advance.

Railserve Beverage Bottling Facility, Update #5

It has been a busy few months for me so naturally not too much progress on the layout although more time on the road equates to more time to browse the internet and buy stuff. I picked up a couple Scaletrains.com hoppers for my sugar silo, a few Corn Syrup cars that I have started re-numbering along with weathering and a nice display case for some locomotives that don't get to run on my little shelf layout. It was a perfect fit above my lead extension. I tricked it out with a cheap Lowes Floating Shelf and an LED strip to help with the lighting.

Holiday Ops Video

Basic scenery is done with the exception of finishing the Greenville depot.  This is the final monthly run of the year before our open house nights begin in December.  We again had a great mix of eras and consists!

Berlin 1929: Renewal Of The Baseboard

Playing with trains is all well and good, just as long as the benchwork is satisfactory. What I had used from a previous layout was 40mm (1 3/4") foam with a topping of lightly made fibreboard. It worked well enough, but it became clear that the roadbed was not what I required with the thinking of the time - where the turnouts (points) would be operated from underneath.
