Day 2, lets set some goals....

I've started to organize a list what I want to accomplish.....

To learn about the industry and railroads in my two hometowns, and how they influenced each other.

A personal component, to put my thoughts on virtual paper.

Just Hangin' N' Bangin' at the Feb 19 Open House

Hanging out with friends and banging boxcars! Enjoy

Today we have a lot of diverse trains on the show today.

The SP SDP40 and Santa Fe Freights push into Oakland.

They meet a MEGA double headed Steam Iron Drag and UP switcher at Port Costa

Then the Empire Builder and a steam shorty

Sitting around and beginning a journey.....

So, its another cold Monday, and I decided to start to chronicle my railroading life.  This blog has no outright direction, perhaps it is more away to organize my thoughts.

I am making some decisions about my hobby, and need a outlet for my frustrations, my successes, and my stagnation!

O Scale Switching Layout at the 2019 Chicago O Scale Meet

Here are some photos I took of my O scale Soo Line switching layout at this year's Chicago O Scale Meet.  I thought I'd share these so you could see the progress made on the layout since it was first exhibited back in 2013.

I hope you enjoy them.

Thanks,
Damin.

AT&SF Depot at Hermosa Beach, California

This describes and shows a build of an HO scale model of a depot at Hermosa Beach, California constructed by the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway in 1927. The depot was in service until the 1960s. The model is a kit offered by Microtech Scale Models in 2006 and available in HO scale and S scale. It is no longer made but occasionally turns up on eBay or at train shows.

An Alco Models Brass S1 - ReMotor / Re Build

Many many moons ago I modeled the New Haven in N scale.at some point i stumbled across an Alco models Brass Ho S1. Not knowing anything at the time about cheap brass I jumped at it. Well cracks in the truck gearboxes and rough tower gearing ect made it a shelf model.

While at a show a while back i picked up an Atlas S2 for another project but I thought the trucks may fit under the Brass s1 Frame. Shore enough they did and were but require some spacer washer to gain some clearance for the truck swing.

Frenchman River Model Works Tug Boat

While not something I intended for my layout I got this kit years ago out of curiosity more then anything.

It has been sitting on the shelf in half built state for a few years so i decided to finish it up.

Resin Car Casting Clinic

I recently held a clinic for some of the local modelers on my methods for casting resin freight cars.  A couple people were out of town and asked me to video tape it.  Instead a made two videos about 20-30 min long that covers the info I presented in the clinic, along with a casting demo.

I posted the videos on You Tube (first time trying that).

Here are links to the You Tube videos:
