Presentation of the RENFE TRD 594 railcar
Today here is a small presentation of the RENFE TRD 594 railcar.
My welds aren't award winning...
I spent a few hours today welding up some more wall brackets for the layout. Someone had mentioned wanting to see what I used to hold the layout, so here they are. I need to grind some of the welds, drill the mounting holes and shoot them with primer and then they are ready to go onto the layout walls.
An attempt to show some video
Attached is a possibly more useful layout diagram. The red line indicates the trip the video effort follows starting in the laundry room. But the videos are trapped currently in the Tablet and transfer is not yet complete. I thought I should send this type of diagram out since I'll be using it as I compose other videos. Sorry for the shaking and blurring. I'll get better with practice...
Villefranche Lauragais Station.
Hello everyone, to change it a bit here is a new video today of some trains (real ones this time). It is a station in the south of France 25 km from my home.
Final Maryland Midland Track Plan
One of my chronic complaints are blogs and magazine layout articles that do not show the track plan for the railroad depicted, So I've updated the plan to reflect more of what I am actually building.
Canadian Army Train -WIP
Work on the Intermodal Yard on my Trenton Subdivision in N Scale has stalled, while I wait for delivery of some items needed to finish. So great opportunity to forge ahead with a Canadian Army train I have been working on. The tracked vehicles are from Roco.cc and the wheeled vehicles are from Shapeways. I will be creating my own decals for these vehicles as none are available for Canadian armour in 1:160 scale
Tourist steam train
Good morning all,
Today here is a new video of the operation of a tourist steam train. The steam locomotive is a Mikado and the shunting locomotive is of the Spanish brand "Electrotren". It is the best known Spanish brand of model trains.
A flexible track plan
Attached are two diagrams of the layout outlining the changes made. 90% of the mainline remains the same, but the removal of the diamond crossing just off the duck under combined with the turnout arrangement also illustrated has a big impact. This arrangement allows me to run the St J & LV as a continuous run loop, the Conn River line separate from the St J & LV, and also combine the two railroads in order to gain the longest length.
Backdrop material?
I am at the point where I need to put up a backdrop on my peninsula. It is a 2x4 type wall. Past layout I used masonite hardboard - but i can't remember if i used 1/4" or 1/8". My studs are on 24" centers - i am concerned that 1/8" may end up being wavy once put up?
Curious what other approaches you all have used. I could use drywall for the straight areas and masonite for corners.
