Farmrail in HO Scale - New Layout!

Hello all,

I've moved away from blogging here in recent months because I started my own website and YouTube channel, and didn't want the work of redundantly posting the same things.  However, I had several people comment on some of my newer content that they had originally seen me here on MRH and lost track of what I've been up to, so I decided to provide a quick update!

NCE Control Bus Cable Substitute

Hey guys, back with another question for Nolan's. Does anyone know where to get the Control Bus Cable needed for connecting the SB5 to the Command Station? Been checking around online and I can't seem to find it. If we can't find a place to get it, what do we substitute? I know with Digitrax you can just use any six-wire cable, but NCE no idea. Thanks in advance!

Manns Creek Railway, Strip coal loading tipple

The narrow gauge Manns Creek Railway hauled coal 9 miles from an area where they opened many small coal mines to the town of Sewell, located on the New River, where it was converted to coke or sized and loaded into standard gauge C&O hoppers.  during WWII a 200 ton coal receiving bin where newly opened strip mining operations trucked strip mine coal to be dumped and loaded into the narrow gauge hopper cars for the trip down to Sewell.  the heart of my new On3 layout will be the live loading of coal into my On3 hopper cars and the unloading of the coal at Sewell.  The unlo

Cascade Sub: Painting Roads

Once the terrain was formed and plaster dried, I worked on bringing the roads in Oakridge to life with  painting and weathering. The end result was a surface realistic to Commercial St. completed without much fuss.

Binging Allagash content is good for your health

Hello model railroaders!

This isn’t a public service announcement or a promotional stunt, but more like how binging Allagash content on Model Railroad Hobbyist (MRH) and Trainmasters TV has inspired me.  Bottom line up front, the inspiration has me changing from modeling the Chicago & Northwestern – Marshline Subdivision and going back to the Mascoutin Valley Railroad.

About my 3D Printer

I hope this will answer some of the questions people asked about my printer.

When I first started to get interested in my own printer I talked to a club member who had a printer and his  advise was.

1; was pick one where spare parts are readily available.

2; decide what type you want.

3; what size print area you want.

4; what is the budget.

Dioramas in office boxes

Over the years, I built a number of small layouts and dioramas. Since there is not sufficient space to have all of them on permanent display on my bookshelf, I designed several dioramas to fit into some kind of office storage equipment.
