I took this picture in 2003 from the Union Square Hotel directly across form the Dallas, UPT. This building did not exist in 1963. If you like the picture you are welcome to save it and share it.  This is a view that was not available at the time JFK was shot.

Diversion Projects

Occasionally one needs a little diversion from other model railroad projects.

The picture below represents one of those diversion projects, actually it shows two. The truck and trailer will be a cement bag hauler. The cab over truck is an Athearn product. The trailer is a kit bash from two different trailers. The idea behind the cement trailer will be a cement distribution diorama with several cement storage silos with a railroad siding.

Take a Ride on the Valley Local

Hi guys,  I've been lurking here for a while and just wanted to introduce myself.  My name is Chris and I'm modeling the New Haven Railroad's Connecticut River Valley Line as it was in October, 1947.  I'll be modeling the "Air Line" as well, since it crossed the Valley line at grade in Middletown, CT.

Layout Vist to Mike McNamara's Northeast Kingdom

Hello everyone, Sunday November 3rd I headed down to Mike McNamara's Northeast Kingdom railroad i took some picture and attached them to the post. i have to say every year i go down there and it just keeps getting better and better every year. it really feels like going back in time to the great days of Northern railroading when the Falls colors match the railcars sitting in yard. but anyway I will let the photos speak for them self  and Mike keep up the great work.

Chroma Key or Green Screen photo's of Layout etc.

Has anyone played around with Green Screen/Chroma Key for the back drop of your layout or to show off a car or locomotive in a setting?   If you have what programs or software have you used?  It would be interesting to make for-ground scenery, your model locomotive/car, and then add the background to make a photo in a real setting.
