How to contact Miles Hale concerning Golden Roundhouse from South Park Valley

Greetings,

I have been searching for any plans for the Golden Roundhouse in Golden Colorado that served the C&S in 1905 (the 6 stall portion).  Miles did a series on South Park Valley that I was told had the roundhouse.

I was  wondering if there is a way to contact Miles for information.  I have been unable to find plans anywhere.  All help appreciated.

Thanks Cameron

Biking the Rails - so cool!

While on a vacation last month, we tried 'biking' a railroad right-of-way, with bikes that runs on the rails.  It was really fun, and a great way to experience the right-of-way and terrain.  Move details & photos on my blog:

Minnesota Transfer Railway Map(s) and Details

Looking for map(s) and details of the Minnesota Transfer Railway and the interchanges with other lines, specifically NP and CRIP. I have been Googling for the last hour and cannot find anything except references to "Gateway to the Northwest - the Story of the Minnesota Transfer Railway" which I cannot find offered for sale (and probably couldn't afford anyway!). I am hoping to design a location for my model railroad that could at least allude to a real location.

Thanks for any help!

Bucket list of things i want to model.

Over the years of standing along railroad tracks, I have a list in my head of things I want to model. In no particular order

Conrail 8907 SW7 This was the switcher that worked my hometown of North Tonawanda for years, and I always had a yen for a decent model of it.

The First Railroad Depot on the Hudson River

Who built it? "The New Jersey Railroad and Transportation Company".

Who were they?  The third railroad to be charted by the state of New Jersey. This charter allowed them to build a railroad from the Shore of the Hudson River to New Brunswick.

Time span that this terminal existed and was operational? 1834 to 1857.

Need dimensions of Boeing train containers

I wasn't able to find this anywhere else so I thought I would ask here:

Does anyone know the dimensions for the BNSF/Boeing Fuselage train containers?  Specifically I'm looking for the container that fits immediately behind the aircraft fuselage, only takes up about 1/2 of the flatcar and has an angled face on the front.  I believe that container holds the vertical and horizontal stabilizers.

The container I'm looking for is shown in this picture from Walthers:

Railfanning the Prototype of my layout

Last month I did some railfanning on my prototype, the CP Canadian Division. You can read about it here and here, and watch the video here.

CNR new nose herald on FA2s

Does anyone know when Canadian National Railways introduced the new nose heralds on their FA2s? And when did they remove the external bell on the roof?

Industry inbound/outbound cars and roadnames question.

Hi all,

I hope i am posting this in the right section and apologies in advance if this sounds like a too-obvious question. I am wondering if there is a link between the road name of a freight car and if this is inbound or outbound (loaded in both cases) car at an industry that is a customer to a specific railroad.
