Prototype Photographs 2019

Hi All,

Went to see some trains today with my camera.  Found a couple scenes that you might enjoy looking at.

In the spirit of the holidays I'd like to share them with You.

Hope the year is Happy, Healthful and Prosperous for you.

I’m looking forward to see your prototype photos too!

impact of St Lawrence Seaway on railroads

The 1959 opening of the St Lawrence Seaway had a profound impact on railroads and communities in the USA and Canada. It reduced export traffic that formerly went by rail to Atlantic ports, significantly weakening rail carriers that served New York harbor, Baltimore and Philadelphia. This was a factor in the bankruptcies that led to Conrail. In Canada, it reduced rail traffic to the Maritimes.

Canadian Pacific commercial coal shed - photos?

Kanamodels made a nice laser kit of a CP commercial coal supplier shed, but I've not been able to find a photo of the prototype. Can anyone point me to a picture of one in use 'back in the day'?

Thanks!

MOW train on the UP in Slidell, LA

Here are some MOW cars encounted on the UP in Slidell, LA  (That's Louisiana for you northerners)

The group of cars and the NS converted Pullman were an awesome find for a northerner.

Hope you can get some good out of the pictures, posted in the first comment below.

I’ll take a walk now and see what I missed......
