SP Daylight head end cars
I want some guidance from our SP experts. What are accurate head end cars for an SP Daylight train of the early 50s? Specifically, within the context of E-unit motive power and full width diaphragms.I have many of the BLI Daylight cars but do not know what to add for headend.
Baggage, RPO? Also, I understand there was a transition period where the full width diaphragms were being removed due to maintenance cost issues. Would it be appropriate to include the excellent Genesis non- articulated cars in the consist?

What questions to ask a former feed mill manager?
One of my modeling projects is a model of TD Feeds in Redmond, WA. It was torn down in 2000-2001 time frame. About 10 years ago, I managed to get a email address from the Redmond Historical Society of a former manager of the operation. We emailed back and forth for about a year. He sent me,photos and information. I saved the photos, but one day I lost my entire email account (school shut it down because I was no longer a student). I lost everything.
Downsizing OSCR - turnout removal as per prototype
When I talk about downsizing, I'm not saying the overall size of the layout. In fact, the Ontario South Central Railway has grown 4 1/2 feet with a long staging/Interchange since its inception at its first location. My issue is turnouts. I have about 4 I have to replace. About $150 worth. And as a musician and near min. wage job I can't afford to do that. So...what to do?

My cable box runs a series of screen-saver images when it's not tuned to anything. They shift at about an 8- or 10 -second rate sequence, so if you miss any details, you have to wait for it to come by again. Right now, in a beautiful series of photos from all over the world, a variety of scenes such as the Northern Lights, mountains, lakes, etc. are shown, along with their location. One in particular caught my eye; it's what looks like a stub-ended track next to a station along with two passenger cars (no loco) in a winter setting.
Info Sought: Northwest Branch or Short Lines
Hey, gang. Looking for some design inspiration for a small shelf layout I'm planning. Besides Pennsylvania, the other location I've long had an interest in is the Pacific Northwest. The Northern Pacific, Great Northern, Spokane, Portland & Seattle and the Milwaukee Road (and other local short lines) are all railroads I'm interested in, but have little knowledge about. I thought it would be fun an educational to explore some of the smaller branch lines (especially end-of-line locations) in that part of the world for a possible small layout.
Looking for a coal flood loader with balloon track in WV (FOUND)
A while back I was in Google Earth, scrolling through coal country West Virginia looking around the various main lines for coal operations. In this particular session I started following the rail lines from VA into WV along I64 and looked at places like Pax, WV.
IAIS's West End - Abandoned concrete plant - DONE
One of my hobby goals for 2020 is to make more progress on structures, and I decided to start by trying to fill the largest gaps between existing structures today. Job #1 is the abandoned Ready Mixed concrete plant (later found to be Wilson Concrete, but in 2001 this plant was acquired by Lyman-Richey Corp., parent company of...Ready Mixed!) just east of UP's Pool Yard in Council Bluffs. Copper Smelting in Southeastern Arizona circa 1916
I am planning a model railroad to represent the operations of the El Paso & Southwestern System as it provided service to the smelters (as well as supplies to the Calvary camp) in Douglas, Arizona around the year 1916.
This Sanborn map from 1929 shows the overall layout and track plan for the smelter I would like to represent on my railroad.
Significant change over the years.
I have settled to a great degree on the many changes I've made over the years. A fellow in the group has build a White River Junction Union Station which serves to anchor my layout on the Conn River line. The layout, which I will post a diagram of now represents the Conn River line from White River Jct. to Newport Vt. The run is approx. 250 ft. WRJ to Newport as a modelled section. The two yards are connect also through a 40 ft.
