Flying drop runaround

While looking into the NYS&W’s Utica area operation I came across this video from 1991 showing a flying switch maneauver to do a runaround, with only a single guy on the ground.  The setup for the flying switch starts at 5:10, the train is just coming back from working an industry in New Hartford, and sitting on the other track are a couple cars they had previously pulled from the New York Mills industrial track that comes off the straight leg of that switch.  I don’t know what if any grade is on that track.

T&P RS2 #1100, custom decals needed?

Edit- changed title hoping for better exposure

I've been thinking that I want to add this lone wolf to my roster. T&P only rostered the one unit, after brief service in the Lancaster yard she was repainted swamp Holly orange and black and sent to work the passenger terminal in Texarkana. In my world she will instead be sent west to work  smaller yards during the last of the transition from 0-8-0 switchers to SW's and GP's.

Help identifying Sn3 Freight Car types

I came across some model freight trains of my late father. These are Sn3 built from kits I think. Would appreciate some help wit basic identification. The black looks like maybe "Cattle Car" and Orange-Red a "Caboose"? Am I close?

As always, thanks in advance for review and comment. This is a very helpful forum for newbie like me.

Santa Fe Denver Connection: More Info?

I am a big-time Santa Fe fan (*everyone else looks confused, reads my username a second time and gives me a funny look*) and I heard that Walthers is releasing a new version of the Santa Fe Super Chief (i.e.

Old plastics plant in Hampton NH?

I am getting close to having to finalize any sidings and spurs in the Hampton Nh section of my layout.  One thing I read references to here and there is about a plastics plant in Hampton that I believe goes back to prior to my period in the 1950s.  A couple histories mention it being the last industry the B&M line from Portsmouth down to Hampton served.

But try as I might, I cannot seem to find anything on where the plastics plant actually was located in Hampton.

The Prototype

The Kettle Falls Branch, where is that?

The Kettle Falls Branch connected with the former Great Northern mainline north of Spokane, at Dean / Colbert. The Kettle Turn (the 6th subdivision) would run from Hillyard to Kettle Falls WA and return. The Kettle Falls turn served as a bridge connecting between to Nelson BC and to the 7th subdivision connecting to Republic WA via Grand Forks BC.

Dumpster Weathering

I am a big user of images found online for my modeling. I am in search of roll on/off dumpsters that look like they have been used. Do you have any pictures to share. I am trying to weather 6 of Walthers green dumpsters and have been unable to find used pictures on line either via Google or DuckDuckGo.com searching. Most of what I have found seem to be publicity shots. Looking for real world stuff. Thanks. Tom
