MTH HO FB1 -Third rail pick up want to convert to 2-rail pick up

Looking for some guidance .I bought a used MTH HO Alco FB-1. Powered with DCS Sound. I was told it did not run, due to a possible short.

I received the loco and noticed it had a third rail wiper and European couplers. I went to the MTH website and confirmed that they indeed make HO locos for the European  market with three rail HO track.

I hooked up a jumper to the wiper and another to one side of the outer wheels and the sound worked and the wheels started turning. I have no evidence that anything is wrong with this loco.

My question is, what is the easiest way convert to two rail operation and eliminate the third rail wiper? There is only one wire ( Tan in color) coming from the chassis to the wiper.
