The Ultimate Narrow Gauge Railroad - 1894 Style

Boynton Bicycle Railroad

Eighty-one years ago this month, the first issue of Model Railroader was published.  Model Railroad Craftsman, less than a year old, was known simply as the Model Craftsman.  The Model Craftsman covered railroad topics as well as sailing and flying models.

HOn3 newbie

Hello all.
I haven't set up a train in the last 40 plus years, but I've never lost my fascination with them.
I'm disabled now and need a hobby (Can you guess what I chose?).
Looking into things I see a LOT has changed since my old Lionel figure 8 set.
I have been reading thru a lot of sites and learning what I can, but obviously there is no substitute for hands-on, face-to-face, skill building.
With that said, I (THINK) I want to go with HOn3.

Los Angeles Junction - progress

A little background... I am modeling the Los Angeles Junction Railway in HO, circa 1985.   From the BNSF web site:

Enjoy!

Archer decals, other than rivets.

For those of you that have seen mention of Archer's Rivet decals have you explored their site?  I thought I would point out this site as a resource for new modelers.  It would be worth it to surf their site.  There is a lot more than rivets and weld decals on their site.

Roundhouse and yard picture

Hello Everyone,

My friend gave me a picture of a yard and roundhouse. I am wondering if anyone recognizes it.  It does not have any marking on the back that would give me a clue to where it is located.  Thanks for your help.

Rio Grande Southern - new videos !!

This post is a about some recently discovered / published RGS film footage.

The first is a short but interesting clip featuring Goose #3 in 1935, plowing snow and later pulling into a crowded Dolores depot.  The Goose was nearly new, and in its original dark paint scheme.  Chris Weiser discovered this clip, and the Ridgway RR Museum noted it, in their Jan 2015 newsletter.
