Odd Place Near the Iowa Illinois Border

I was driving to a wedding on Saturday and took I88 below are the Google images of the place. It seemed to be a small yard for the Iowa Interstate but nearby was this large yard full of hundreds of engines I hope some people can help and here they are-

One for Prof Klyzr

I have a wonder about the Land Down Under, Prof!

Over at nScale.net, one of the forum members posted a neat little vintage 8mm clip of the Graham County Railroad from the early 1960s. Coal-burning Shays on a common carrier, interchanging with the Southern Railway -- pretty intriguing stuff, I'd say.

GreenBrier 53' all-purpose stack cars

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knows if there's an HO scale model of the GreenBrier all-purpose 53' stack car? I've seen models of these cast in metal, but these were made some time ago. The ones I'm interested in are the cars with the trailer hitches at the ends.

   Thanks

1920s-30s New Car Tires wrapped in paper ( HO Scale)

I need about 2 dozen tires as mentioned in the header, the real skinny old school type, for an old tire store I'm building. Curious as to whether anyone has already done these, and can give me some tips, or found them commercially?

Similar to the photo, but those are 1/24 scale, and more modern.

My plan A is to buy various size O-rings, and try wrapping them with tape, then painting them that light brown paper color, but I'd like to hear any suggestions you guys might have.
Thanks in advance
Michael Smith

An interesting German Railway Relic

Hey all, been a bit since I've posted stuff, but I wanted to show you guys this little guy. My mom was visiting Germany this past week, and when she returned home, of course there was also an additional cardboard box with souvenirs and gifts for the family. Among my things was something specifically tuned to my railroad interests. An old battery operated railroad lantern from the Deutche-Bahn. After getting it open, I found a ancient corroded 2.5 gold lead-acid battery. How fun!!!

What kind of car was used to haul grain in the late 50s and early 60s?

Looking for eastern US engine house designs

Hi - I'm aware that this is one of those questions Google image search should be able to answer, but in this case my keywords don't seem to be getting me the answers I'm looking for ... as ever, the hope is that my begging threads here will lead to something good to share with you in time.

I'm contemplating an engine house somewhere on my layout, and I'm looking for a prototype. Except I'm not sure such a prototype exists.

"Auto Crate Load" by Funaro and Camerlengo

Gents,
I recently won on eBay an F&C kit of a Pennsy flatcar with 2 big crates as the load, with decals to mark them as Plymouth, Dodge, or Chrysler. I've done a lot of searching and really can't come up with any prototype info . The only pic I have is just the F&C box art which  shows the crates simply sitting on the flatcar.

MOW weedkiller wagons - looking for information

After scratching some buildings and doing some rolling stock kits, I've decided to set myself the challenge of building some kind of MOW stock, starting with a rtr item as a base and working from there.

Originally I had the idea of doing a jordan spreader or russel plow, but these are beyond me at present because of the complex hydraulics on the jordan and the particular curves on the russell. They can wait a few months or years until I can do them justice.

Paperboard plant in Ukiah, CA

Hi all,

I'm looking for pictures & information of the paperboard plant in Ukiah, CA. from 1990-2002. I will however take what I can get (beggars & choosers). Specifically, did the plant have a rotary dumper, and what would be delivered by rail?

   Thanks,

   -CFNR 501
