Prototype Weekly Photo Fun June 6 2016 to June 12 2016
As there seems to be little interest in this column this will probably be the last week I will bother.
It seems strange to me that a lot of so called Model Railroaders have little or no interest in the Prototype.
Maybe it is just that people can't be bothered posting anything they just want to read what others have done?
Anyway enough griping, I will try one more time!
Time again for a prototype photograph.
When you post please try and include the following:-

Would three railroads use the same set of tracks for interchange?
**BEFORE I BEGIN** I would like the moderators to maybe consider adding another category so people can ask questions about prototype operation. Just a thought. OK, now onto my actual post.
Interesting Omaha switchback spur
While exploring in Omaha a couple weeks ago, I spotted an active spur off the BNSF I'd never noticed before, about a half-mile west of the Amtrak depot. It became even more interesting after researching later via Google Maps and realizing it was a present-day switchback serving Nox Crete Products, in an area where a switchback didn't appear to be necessary as a result of grades.
Tender Oil Conversion
I had a hard time finding usable photos of an oil tender when I was trying to convert my Bachmann mogul. One day my wife and I took a drive into Arkansas and ended up in Eureka Springs. Lo and behold, they had a mogul in the yard with an oil tender. I got the kind of excited that makes my wife visibly uncomfortable.
What does this lettering say on a covered hopper?
I am interested in making the covered hopper in the following photo. Does anyone know what the lettering circled in red says?

Changing Wheels
The other day I was in Dillon, SC, to watch some trains, and happened to hear the local trainmaster talking with the dispatcher about getting time on the siding in Dillon to change out a wheel set on a car there. This is what happened.
prototype remote controller
Prototype locomotives are run by remote control too. A hand held device from Cattron:
