Our visit to the Georgetown & Allen Mountain Railroad

As many of you know I live near Michael Rose and we've become good friends.  It was time for another visit to his wonderful Georgetown & Allen Mountain Railroad ( http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/14886 ) and this time I took my wife with me per Michael's invitation from my last visit.  Both Michael and his wife are wonderful hosts and it's always enjoyable to visit and talk.

Here are a few pictures I show with my iPad during our visit:

Well, stuff is happening . . . I just seem to never get it down on the blog-o-sphere!

The BRS welcomed 3 new pieces of rolling stock this week:

Gonna have to work on the first two - clearly one of these things is not like the other.

The shop foreman also had an engaging discussion with one of his guys about when the track work crossing Bufkin's Bayou will be finished:

Decisions, decisions; or, Too Much Information

I am faced with a problem, and since I am currently waiting for paint to dry so I can get back to work on my tender, I figured I'd sit and blather on a bit.  The story follows shortly...

Tam Valley Depot - *** Update 11/1/13*** heard from Duncan

**** Update *** Ducan emailed me today to say that he already shipped me the part. I am a happy camper!

Anybody have any success lately in getting responses from MRH sponsor Tam Valley?  I recently purchased a dozen of their "Singlet" turnout controllers and one of the units was missing a very important tiny screw that holds the actuator arm on the servo.

Looking for a helper.....

......on building my layout.  I live in Clifton Park, NY (suburb of Albany) and am wondering if any of our readers might live nearby and want to join me.  I'm retired and generally work on the project during the day and on weekends.

If this is an inappropriate post please let me know.

Thanks,

Peter
