n scale fire engine
I am looking for an N scale fire engine,1940/1950 would be ideal. I cant seem to scare anything up on the inter-net. I built a dandy fire house(scratch) and I had hoped to show it with the doors open. I may have to use another style of truck(liquid tank type truck or something) Any ideas?
thanks john

Home made Rail Bender - V1.0
Kevin said he was going to pick my brain about the rail bender I made. I figured I better do something quick before my brain has been picked bare.
Here's what Kevin was talking about. In my thread on the quarry tram line I wanted to see what a 10" radius looked like and whether a quarry car idea I had would work on a 10" radius curve. So I did a test track using my home made rail bender.
Great NYC street freight video 1930's. In and around under the highline. Lots vehicles. Boxcabs too !
I just found this after Bing put up a nice photo of the Highline as it is today. I clicked the little hotspot squares and found this great little film.

I found the film quality to be great considering. The person who put it up I think, downplays the quality somewhat.
Summits
Are there features of railroads at key summit locations that show up repeatedly? How often do such locations feature a passing siding? Turning wye left over from steam? Set out tracks? Lap siding? Turntable? Industry(ies)? Do any simply have a peak in the single track where? Does it matter if the summit required helpers or not? I would tend to think so, as the railroad would put in some level of infrastructure for their operations.
Thinking at the keyboard about what I want at the summit of my climb for a N scale mountain railroad featuring helper ops.

Does anybody know what happened to the <micro/small layouts for model railroaders> website? i can't seem to get to it. I hope it has not disappeared

Meet at Cedar
I haven't posted many new photos lately, but that's not because things aren't happening. There's more scenery underway, some new track, more structures...
Here are a couple photos from a recent operating session showing a train order meet executed by the road crews of an eastbound manifest and westbound priority pig train at Cedar. Both trains have UP pool power. These aren't great shots, but provide views most of you haven't seen showing the big picture of the area.

I have been keeping progress on our projects posted on our personal forum, so if you any of you have questions, post there because this thread will likely be locked.

Everything Has A Prototype!
Hey,
On may way back from Oklahoma City I found this. Look at Eldorado Oklahoma on Google maps and note the full size model railroad just East of town. I think it is for loading unit grain trains. Everything has a prototype!
