Modeling general discussion
Weekly Photo Fun, Aug 15 to Aug 21
Its time to start up a new thread so lets share some photos!.
As always, we get as much out of your in-process photos as we do the highly polished "all done" shots!

UK member on Vacation in MA & ME: good model shops?
I am coming over from the UK on vacation next month, arriving in Boston and touring MA, NH & part of ME.
Any tips about good model shops (especially N scale) in the area would be much appreciated!
Thanks guys.

Need Information
My father worked for the railroads most of his life and was an avid collector of trains and memorabilia. He passed away 3.5 years ago and nobody in family has interest in his collection. 1.5 pickup loads moved to my house last night as my mother just wanted them out. Most in original boxes and some from stores that haven't been around in 20+ years. Can someone give me an idea on what to do with these? Donate to a local collector club? Train garage sale? Ebay (not very interested in messing around with shipping these all over)?
newbie :)
i"m new to this , but now ho railroading. took up where my father left off. looking for some cardstock buildings downloadable things. keep me in mind please.....
El Paso, Texas trip.
My family and I had to make recent trip to El Paso, TX for family reasons. Before heading out there I used the forum to reach out to Eric Hansmann. We soon had a number emails going back and forth. Eric models in the 1920s era and my interests in the Morenci Southern Railway are from 1899 to 1922. 1922 was the end of the line for the MS.

Hi everyone , Bill Brillinger introduced me to MRH.This post is to showcase some of his decals that I had made by him. My Dad drove for a few companies in the 70's and 80's when he was laid off from his real truckin job. One of those companies was Trans Canada Truck Lines out of Toronto Ontario. I had always wanted to model some of the trucks he drove but finding someone to replicate decals was a real challenge. I was told on a Facebook modeling page about Bill and I contacted him.

Why I love modeling a prototype...
Over the last two years, my own modeling activity has consisted primarily of research. One of the most rewarding parts of that research has been meeting and speaking with people that actually worked on my lines during my era.

I got this really great texture from Clever models. It would make an awsome background building, except its only about 18 feet tall. It should be more in the 30 foot range for a rail served industry.
Are there any photo shop/ gimpers out there who know how to Stretch this so the metal siding part of it would be taller?
Thanks
Dick

Help - Room-Friendly Layout Preparation & Benchwork
Hello,
I have just closed on my new house and have been surveying my new layout space, which is approximately 40' long by 17' wide, plus a nice (huge!) HVAC closet with more than enough room for a helix, a staging yard and workbench area. However, unlike in my last house, this space is already finished and has a carpeted floor. And while I do own the house and can strike a nail anywhere that suits my fancy, what I'm hoping to discover is a "kinder, gentler" way of building the layout such that it has a lower impact on the room.

Ride the In-ko-pah Railroad!
I've just posted the first new video of my railroad since 2011...
Enjoy a ride on the In-ko-pah Railroad, my unique, 1/24th scale outdoor model railroad! Climb aboard a freight train pulled by a 4-6-0 steam locomotive, and watch the beautifully detailed desert scenery roll by.
