Branching out into railroadania a little
Always wanted and recently aquired a complete place setting of china for the Illinois Central "Land of Corn" China pattern, and arriving Tuesday is a cloth napkin to go with it.
I'm not looking for major collection, but IC is my railroad of choice, now I can be served on a real place setting....
Anyone else branch out into railroad china?

A Visit to Scottsdale Model Railroad Historical Society, An Arizona Model Railroad Club
On a recent visit to Arizona, I had the great pleasure to visit with my old friend, Robert, and tour the Scottsdale Model Railroad Historical Society. From the club’s website: “The Scottsdale Model Railroad Historical Society is located in the Model Railroad Building at the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park. An integral part of the Railroad Park, the Society displays HO (standard gauge) and HOn3 (narrow gauge) equipment, structures and scenic techniques.

New Superfast 3D printing technology.
A company called Carbon3D has come up with a new 3D printing technology that they call Continuous Liquid Interface Production (CLIP.) They claim it's 25 to 100 times faster than traditional techniques. It looks similar to SLA printing but it doesn't create things layer by layer so the finish should be a lot better. Go to the link below and scroll down to the b&w photo of the Eiffel Tower. Pretty impressive.
Let's hope this makes it to places like Shapeways and other sites in the near future, and doesn't cost $500 per body shell.
1974 period collection
These will be the eight cars used for my inglenook. All have the ACI labels/plates on them. I'll turn these images into cards for shuffling. I have a auto carrier, but is too long for inglenook sessions.
Burlington Northern shops in Burlington Iowa
Found this video on poking around on the West Burlington Shops page. Twould be interesting to model I think...The sheer size of it though is awesome...not to mention the ability of the cranes to lift an SD-40...

Bowser/English's Model Railroad Supply
Maybe I didn't look hard enough but didn't see this mentioned anywhere. English's Model Railroad Supply was robbed Monday night. I believe all items taken were O Scale. If at any train shows on the east coast be aware.

Weekly Photo Fun ?
I see that with the confusion with someone bringing up last years WPF and people posting their new pics to it that that thread has been locked. However, there was a new WPF thread started for this week and it seems to have disappeared. What happened to the new thread?
